Yeah I'm wondering since all I want is a fast, straight line stop light to stop light car, and NOT a RoadRace/Rally car if an Evo is Really a good fit for me?

Really I'm looking for a newer style "Muscle Car" I guess?

Maybe time to go back and look at another Cobra or even a Z06?

Comments.....?

From what you describe I think you'd be really happy with a Vette.

Yeah I agree with CD, from everything you are saying, a Vette or Cobra sounds perfect for you. Maybe not even the Vette since they can turn ;)

Have you looked into the new GTO's at all? Pontiac is practically giving the things away and with 350 or 400 hp (depending on year) they get up and move pretty well.

I just talked to the guy with the black 04 vert cobra, he's willing to let me REALLY get on it and really test it this time, <the first test drive he was VERY nervous about having me even drive it at all!> and he'll eat 2 Grand cause of some the paint scratches.

If it feels better now that we have agreed that I can open her up for the 2nd test drive, I may live with a few scratches for $2000.00 off.

Who knows of a good local body shop?

$2k off sounds good. A good detailer should be able to buff your scratches out with a rubbing compound if they aren't too deep (like past the paint into the metal). Glad he is letting you get on it though....kind of strange that he originally wouldn't since thats the whole point of the car.

maybe howslow didnot present himself as a serious buyer...more like a kid off the street who just want to stop by for a quickie...

How many time did you go to the dealer to test drive that wrx...etc..and the sales man tells you to take it ez....

Howie is a middle-aged man with children and a wife, nobody would confuse him for a joy-riding kid.

I always have gotten test-drives the first time visiting a dealership and I've never been told to take it easy. One Mazda salesman actually called me a pussy because I wasn't beating the car hard enough.

Yea I could understand that if Howie looked like some high school kid that came with a friend to "test it out" but considering that Howie is older and mature looking -no offense- im not sure I could see the seller looking at him that way...

The dealers are always going to tell you to take it easy, so you dont break shit. Ive been lucky with testing cars and have only had one ride along. :) Heck the guy who sold me the M3 didnt even need my license or anything, just told me to go drive it and test it out.

I just went to Morries and they wouldnt let me take the Mazdaspeed Miata or the Evo without a dealer in the car.
