What about a 350Z?
Between the STi and EVO, I say test-drive both before deciding anything.
I'd never buy a car without driving it first!

EVOs are sweet but if you want ride comfort than look elsewhere. They are an ethusiaists car which means they handle awesome and give excellent feedback while driving the car hard.
The Stang you drove must have been fucked up if you think it was as slow as your stock 1G. They have double the stock HP and are RWD. Should have been way way faster even though it was a vert.
Get an EVO, it will be as easy to work on as your DSM. Modding it or fixing it should not be much of a transition.

Kline won't let you test drive that car till you buy it ;) Fact is, good luck getting any Mitsu deal to give you the keys to any EVO on the lot.
I'm pretty sure you'd need to have financing approved and be one signature away from buying the car before they think about handing the keys over.
Also when Nash and I went to Kline I noticed the MR had a sticker price of 10K over the MSRP due to "Fair Market Value" They qucikly dropped the price down when they knew the 2 of us where no where near that stupid even though they claim just just sold one the week before for that adjusted price.

Yeah I argued with him on the test drive, he finally gave in, but it will be the last thing before I pay for the car.
I'm going to check out another Cobra, a vette and an Sti before I buy anything.

Mitsu dealerships need to stop thinking the EVO is a rare exotic and can't be test-driven. Every other dealership realizes this when they are used and freely allow test-drives. Also, other car manufactuers freely allow you to drive one of their cars in the same price bracket as the EVO.

MR's are pretty limited, I don't think they want to waste them during test drives. It makes sense.

Yeah maybe I guess, but there is no reason why they can't let the regular EVO's be test-driven. I can understand it if 4 high schoolers show up asking for a drive, but not when its a middle-aged man or a younger more "professional" looking person.

Sorry but I'll NEVER buy a car unless I can drive it first, PERIOD.
I'm just 'funny' that way, <like 99% of all sane people are>
