but your base fuel pressure would drop a ton if one pump went out, would be pretty easy to tell

because if you have on fuel pump and it fails.. the car stops running.. if you have two fuel pumps and one stops running.. it still runs.. but when you go beyond what one pump can supply.. you go WAY lean and your engine blows up
