Re: the evo 3 swap parts are coming

got the engine harness cut shorter by 2.5 feet. it is all soldered back together and ready to go back in the car. just have to add the wideband, egt,gm mas wires to the engine harness. Then I can loom the harness from the fire wall out. Still have to wire the mas and the plug to the fuse box in the car when the harness in.

Re: the evo 3 swap parts are coming

got the engine harness loomed and put it the car. still have to add to the brake and wiper wires. Not much is going to show at all still have to pull it tight behind the engine and make a few brackets to hold them to the back of the block.

left the harness to come out the stock spot since the washer bottle covers it up

all the wiring behind the engine now

wires that will show a bit. cas,2 on the t.stat, the o2 plug, tranny back up lights, tps, and isc. they will be pulled tight and hidden as much as they can be

cant see the injector plugs any more, going to plug the 3 vac. nipples on the smim and run a vac block with all s.s. an lines to every thing

got the new oil cooler put on. use 1 of the stock brackets that was on the car and made one out of some titanium I have laying around

Also got all the heater boxes back in the car.

Re: the evo 3 swap parts are coming

wiring is all done now
got the mas plug and the fuse box (engine bay) plug wired back to the engine harness. You can also see the hole going into the engine bay that was for the drain on the a/c box. I cut the bottom of the box off and made a plug for it. I will use the hole for the Alt. wiring, starter wiring, wide band, boost, egt gauge wires

The gm translator box is now next to the engine bay fuse box also will be putting the fuse block up there for the power from the battery

starting to look like a car a little bit

Tomorrow going to do the rear end and battery box and a few other things. I am running out of things to do that are free.

Re: the evo 3 swap parts are coming

Work on it yesterday with my dad he came over to give me a hand. Started to take the rear end apart. It was a huge pain in the ass. When we put the rear end in the car it was all together still so we left it alone. Broke bolts, had to cut out arms from bolts being frozen in the bushings, ect

Cut open the frame rails to reinforce them more. When I had the 2.0 in it i riped the bolts throught the frame rail on the left side. I don't want to deal with it pulling back out with the 2.4

As the rear end is right now lower arms out, megan toe arms are out also.

The stock rear lca had to be cut out the camber bolts were froze in the bushings and 1 of the sway bar links had to be cut off as well

This realy pissed me off the megan tow arms the bolts were also frozen in the bushings and they have not been in for that long under 2years. Going to bring them to work and make some new bushings for them and a set for the camber arms when I order them.

Re: the evo 3 swap parts are coming

started on the lines today
10an for the oil cooler

new 8an line for the fuel rail. I am going to get a extra 90 fitting for the afpr to make the line shorter

also drilled the baffles out of the valve cover so I can put the 2 90 10an fittings in. going to tap and put in s.s. alan screws to hold the baffles back in

the baffles are soaking in degreaser right now

Re: the evo 3 swap parts are coming

got the last of the big AN lines done.

taped the breather tube to m8 1.25 and put in a alan plug in it

retaped the pvc hole to 1/8 pipe and plug it with a alan plug

got the hole drilled for the 10an fittings in the valve cover

also got 3 1/4in pipe thread alan plugs for the intake manifold since I will be running a vacuum block and all 4an lines for every thing that needs vac. Took off the smim and went after it with some heavy cut and the buffer.

the new 10an lines for the catch can

how the engine bay looks right now. Now that I got it all done I can take out the bare block and head and then clean and paint the tranny

Thanks chris

Just brought the the hood out side and put it on the car to make sure I have room still. Got over an 1in on the front one and well over 2pm on the back one and the heat shields are right there and are 1/2 from the hood any way
