Boost leak test

I need someone who has the tools to do a boost leak test to help me out please. DB is a trek for me, and MAP said they won't be able to do it until july.. kinda odd, anyway. I'll give you like $20 if you can help me out. I'm free after 5ish pm this evening.

Re: Boost leak test

What turbo do you have on it?

The tool is really easy to make and then you could do it whenever you wanted. You could use my 4" tester for a while if you have a turbo with a 4" inlet.

Re: Boost leak test

I have a 4" tester and one for a 16g sized inlet if you have a 3" turbo and a 3" coupler we might be able to figure something out with all the crap i have laying around.

I just made one, it's for a 3" inlet. Post up ur turbo inlet like others have said and go from there. I think mine was under 4 bux to make.

Re: Boost leak test

Thanks guys, I'm going to just make a tester tonight since I'll probably need one in the future as well and I've got someone to provide the other stuff (compressor, etc).

I'm assuming a pvc end cap that fits the 14b 2.25"? coupler should work fine?

Thanks for the offerings.

Re: Boost leak test

Yep, i think vfaq has good instructions on making one, if you can use a Tbolt clamp instead of a hose clamp, but its not necessary

Re: Boost leak test

Umm, not sure why you would disconnect it from the intake manifold though... It's always good to have that pressurized too to check for leaks around the throttle body and flange to the head.
