WFF/WFC: 1g/2g dsm 2.0NT manual perferred
Want to build an Elko Super Hornet car for cheap.
I am looking for a 1g or 2g dsm non turbo chassis or running car.
Obviously I can build/fix/repair anything on the dsm, so let me know what you have.
Cheaper is better, dents in body okay, broken glass okay.
I would perfer a running 4g63 manual trans 1g, but beggers cant be choosers, let me know what you have. Willing to barter/trade instead of cash (say you have a nt car sitting around and need work on your turbo beast...we can work something out).
Blown engines okay, any other mechanical problems okay, bad transmissions okay, just want something that preferably rolls and won't cost me a fortune to get race ready for next season.
I am also considering a mx-3, celica, or integra.

^Might wanna keep an eye out for an older prelude too. I know I saw a white one at elko a while back kickin everybody's ass.
gl and I hope you find ur dsm. You should just pick up that red one and put a motor in it.

Re: WFF/WFC: 1g/2g dsm 2.0NT manual perferred
I don't really want a prelude, rather run something different. Almost everything out there was a honda or neon, 1 black dsm and he was middle of the pack, and 1 celica.

Replied, but doubtful it's what you're looking for.

Re: WFF/WFC: 1g/2g dsm 2.0NT manual perferred
Should pick up that free AWD shell.
I've done some Hornet racing in the past and found out that the AWD chassis handle the tracks much better, I'm guessing due to the stronger suspension parts as they dont snap as easy. I'm guessing you have to run FWD or RWD like we do down here, whatever stock configuration?
Although we were racing 2g's. Not sure if the 1g's have different suspension like the 2g's from AWD turbo to FWD turbo to non turbo. We got the car to 1790 with driver and fluids. Engine bay untouched and roll cage installed. Everything else gutted. Fun times!
Is this track dirt or pavement?

Asphalt racing, can not switch up drivetrain style.
I am not sure if I want a complete shell if I could find a car with a good motor/trans instead. The N/T's shouldn't be worth much considering what the turbo dsms are going for.

Re: WFF/WFC: 1g/2g dsm 2.0NT manual perferred
What I meant was convert it from AWD to FWD. Thats all we did. As long as the car has a model that is FWD, then you are fine. Although that is the rules down here, again, I'm not sure about up there. As long as there is no drive shaft, t-case or rear diff, and as long as it was in stock configuration as FWD, it followed the rules.

Yeah I think I can get it to slide. Hell I bet I can probably bolt in a n/a rear axle assembly and let it buck.

If you need a fwd nt 4g63 tranny, let me know. I got one doing nothing along with a nt 4g63 flywheel for it.
EDIT: You should just find an 89-92 colt, mirage, or summit hatch. A lot lighter, and they could be optioned from the factory with the 4g61 n/a. You could throw a 63 in it and they wouldn't know jack as long as you keep the 1600 valve cover.

Good theory but I am not really looking to go nuts here, just keep it simple.
I might be interested in that trans/flywheel, mileage? price?

Somebody on here was selling a Colt Hornet car not too long ago. He's been up at the cookout.

Re: WFF/WFC: 1g/2g dsm 2.0NT manual perferred
As someone who has spent years at the local circle tracks. You can get a lot to slide in the Hornet class I bet. Most of the tech guys are old school domestic guys. They don't know or care to know much about these newer imports. The class doesn't race for much money either, so tech isn't emphasized as much as the higher/faster classes.
With that in mind, you seem to be on the right track with keeping costs down.
Good luck on your search and I'll send anything I see your way. PM me with any questions you have about circle track. I'm new to dsm's, but an old hand at circle track racing.

I will let you now if Gixxer Joe backs out on that 1GB Hornet car I have.
I also have a 92 Summit/Colt 1.5L with a 4sp manual I'd let go for $200

If you could let me know on that dsm asap that would be great. Not sure if I am interested that much in the colt, have to think about it. Is that one already setup for hornet? I also have the gold old nissan with the 1.6 in it, haha.

Thanks man! I figured this would be a great way to start out in circle racing as I would like to eventually get into the bigger classes. I want to make sure it is something I really want to do and would like to see if I can turn corners in a field with multiple cars no the track. I figured it would be a good way to build track experience and pad a resume to obtain sponsors later down the road.
