FS: Brand new 91-94 FWD tranny

Brand new 91-94 FWD Turbo transmission out of the crate from Mitsubishi ($2200 ). Not sure what the exact year is but I believe it may be a 94 tranny. It has been sitting in my garage tucked away. I had plans to use it but going a different route. Comes with brand new: Slave cylinder, Clutch fork, Motor mount, and TOB. Has never been mounted or used.

Asking $1800 + shipping o.b.o.!

Will have pictures up asap.

As far as bolting up goes a 91-94 transmission will fit no problems. The shifter cables and shifters are the same. Internally there are some differences. The later years came with I believe double syncro in some gears primarily 2nd gear. They are internally stronger than the 90s. There are some more internal differences also.

Thats not the VIN. But the VIN should tell you the year. 10th digit.

Re: FS: Brand new 91-94 FWD tranny

Without spacing the entire vin apart it reads: F5M332SP7SJL2083. However that indicates that it's a 95 transmission? There are two other numbers in different locations

This one is around the bar code: BJL2083-SPZS

and another KM210

Re: FS: Brand new 91-94 FWD tranny

Reading the 1000 questions asked:

Note that 2G transmissions are interchangeable with 1G transmissions of the same model number, but 2G transmissions have different internals and are generally considered to operate much better. Usually only minor modifications are required to fit a 2G transmission to a 1G engine.

I'm thinking mitsu used a 95 core and internals but intended it to go into a 91-94.

Does anyone know how to completely decode the transmission vin?

Re: FS: Brand new 91-94 FWD tranny

as I stated earlier, you are not looking at the VIN #.

Here is a picture of where the VIN is located.

And just incase you still want to know how to decode an entire VIN#...
http://www.vfaq.com/mods/VINs.html

PS, if its a 93-94, It will have larger diameter CV-shaft inputs than the 90-92.

Re: FS: Brand new 91-94 FWD tranny

Thats where the VIN should be. Might have something to do with your trans being brand new, I dunno. Eitherway, F5M33 means FWD turbo.. thats all I ever got out of the top #'s.

After checking a buddy's transmission for a vin, his transmission has one and the new one doesn't.

Re: FS: Brand new 91-94 FWD tranny

After triple checking the shift lever lengths, it is a 90 Transmission. Because of that I will provide free shipping.

Actually, you can put a 2g tranny in a 1g but you cannot put a 1g tranny in a 2g.
