SAFC II tune?

so my buddy with a 97 GS-T thought it would be a good idea to start messing with his afc and now his car wont start/run. we have to figure out a good tune and i was wondering if there is anyone that could help us out.
it has a:
14b turbo
550cc injectors
255 lph fuel pump
stock internals
rebuilt 7 bolt head
manual boost controller

i would say we could figure it out but neither of us have a wideband to tune ourselves....so any help would be nice! thanks!

^^This helped me get my car "feel" a little better + studying online on DSMtuners. I'm not sure if this link will help at all if your car does not start/run properly. I say if you have it up and running, bring it to DB for a quick tune and get yourself a AFR gauge and possibly more mods. good luck.

If it doesn't start you probably didn't wire it up correctly. Check all your connections.

Re: SAFC II tune?

Check the settings. That could be why. And put everything at 0 on the low throttle setting

Re: SAFC II tune?

But just from 0 to 2000 rpms. And if won't start take like 2 percent and keep going down. I would check the basic shit to. Like if you have spark and fuel.

Re: SAFC II tune?

Oh and on the safc you can do like a senor check. Try that too.

Re: SAFC II tune?

A good starting point would be to set everything at -18 to compensate for the 550cc injectors.

Re: SAFC II tune?

It should start at 0 correction. When I start my car its at 11 a/r but when it warms up its at 14.5. You can set the correction at -18 and see if works. But if your turning it over and it won't pop or sound like it wants to start.

Re: SAFC II tune?

If its zeroed out it has a good chance of flooding before it will start.

Guarantee it does not with just an S-AFC and the proper MASS in there if your vehicle does truly have 850cc injectors and no other modifications. Now if you have a 2g mass in a 1g, rheostat on your coolant temp sensor, base timing is jacked up, massive fuel leak, different camshafts, or other tuning solutions, all bets are off. But a stock car, on 850cc injectors, with the correct fuel pump backing them, does not just "start and idle fine" with 850's zero'd out for correction, assuming your S-AFC is installed correctly.

DSM-Is-Love.

Verify your settings are correct for the vehicle. 4 cylinder, arrow proper direction, high/low throttle points spaced our correctly, RPM points spaced correctly, proper airflow sensor selected.

With a slightly larger than factory turbo, I would venture on this range to run the vehicle.

Low assuming 1k rpm splits like factory
-15, -15, -16, -16, -16, -15, -15, -15
High
-11, -11, -11, -11, -10, -10, -10, -10

Assuming on boost leaks, sanity for boost levels (I noticed you did not mention a BOV upgrade or intercooler upgrade, so you are probably in the 12-15psi range), and good gas, you should be okay.

Disclaimer: Always have your vehicle checked by a professional. Log AFR, timing, knock and torque whenever possible to make sure your changes are benefiting the vehicle power output. Street tuning can never replace dyno tuning regarding controlling the vehicle and safety.
