alternator?....

so I thought it was just my battery going bad, because after i started the car and turned it off the next time i went to start it, it would seem like the battery would be dead. I am going to take off the alternator this afternoon and bring it into napa to have it tested. however the car is not at my house and there are no tools there, so just wondering if anyone knew what size the bolts are on it.. also its a 1990 plymouth laser turbo. and everywhere i called there is 3 different sizes the alternator could be, 65,75,90amp... just wondering what everyone experience is with this..

Re: alternator?....

65 if you have a manual, 75 if its an automatic.

Think the 90 Amps were on the 1.8s.

Re: alternator?....

I ran a Galant alt on my old 2G no problem. It's a viable swap.

Re: alternator?....

90 amps are from the Galant VR4s also. I currently have the 75amp dsm one in the GVR4 right now. Still starts up quite fast also.

LOL. Knock on wood, eh?

Nah. I do not think you would have any problems with the auto parts swapped. I am sure of other car owners here have done the same.
