Re: 95 Talon TSi AWD

Its spelled "FLAT" not "FLATE", sounds like you don't need to worry about cars at all.

I wouldn't paint a car with $200 in my pocket, I don't think too many other would either, maybe wait longer?

Is the worrying about cars thing sarcastic, or not?

I technically have $300 but also I have $800 in the bank set aside for buying a car. To make a long story short I almost bought a '94 Talon TSi AWD Auto. that needed a hell of a lot of work. So, the money that guy was asking, I wrote down so I know how much I would have been out if I would have gotten the car.

But yeah, I'm not really understanding the difference in prep work and such between a flat* black or metallic electric blue paintjob.

Besides getting the dent problem attended to.

What did you mean by "sounds like you dont need to worry about cars at all" then? That I literly don't need to worry about them, or that I know enough that I don't have to worry...?

DSMINMN <VERY literal person...sorry..

Re: 95 Talon TSi AWD

I Believe he means your age . . .being 15 and all do you have your drivers license to operate the car yet? Regardless if youll be happy with the flat or flate black which ever it is by all means go for itl. If you would like to change it later thats fine 2. I personally would of kept it the color it was painted the wheels black. Maybe lowered the car and then get a different 5 speed project car. Making the current one you own a somewhat decent looking quick DD. Regardless have fun and learn as much as possible with your new project.

Permit to operate any vehical, yes. This car can not be driven, given its current state.

So I keeping it green would look better?

As far as the 5-speed goes, I can drive one, pretty well if I do say so myself, but I heard these auto. trans. can be used to run 10's... With the exception of a shiftbox and high stall torque converter...

It took so long just to find a TSi AWD let alone a 5-speed... That would be another 2 years...

Re: 95 Talon TSi AWD

I'm trying to help you, I'm usually an asshole in person and come off like a complete asshole online.
But i'm sure you will be driving soon enough i don't care about that part. The $$ thing is what I'm talking about, classic DSMers are fueled by function over looks, while it gets old having crappy looking stuff. If I were you I would just get teh thing running first.

Don't believe everything you see online it's not as easy as it seems. There will be a few locally that will illustrate this for me I'm sure just give it time.

Get the car running solid then report back.

Get a nice healthy stock bottom end put together if yours doesn't run.

Nothing...that I know of. It is leaking a bit of oil and needs a new passenger side drive shaft. Nothing internally though.

Re: 95 Talon TSi AWD

Really all I KNOW I need is a different exhaust, or end tip/muffler. Because the whole dual, round to square tip muffler thing....isn't helping the looks.

This is my list, I guess you could call it, of possible things to get:
full 3" exhaust
Dejion intake
ARP head studs
shift box.

Or maybe it would be a better idea to save up and get a 6-bolt and build that? Ideas ideas...

Not being an ass or anything, but..... I can't really ask any of my family members what to buy because well.... I'll let this picture speak for its self.
My cousins '94 Civic:

Actaully this was before they painted another design on it.

But what I'm pretty much trying to say is, I'm the only one in my family (close to the age of legally driving) worried about performance. I tried to get my youngest cousin into DSMs but I lost hope when he said "I need a car I can put an awesome body kit on!"..

I think you should do maintenance and get a new axle first. 6 bolt I wouldn't worry about til your motor lets loose. Same with the exhaust, it's all functioning.

Re: 95 Talon TSi AWD

if nothing is wrong with the engine...just fix the oil leak, get a new passenger side axle. if the engine is solid, leave it be. the old saying "if it aint broke, dont fix it" is quite useful. what are your plans for this car again?

LOL this may sound a bit gay but my plans are to make it fast...er. Something I can drive whenever. I have a '99 GS-T too but that thing has 152,xxx, and its more my dad's car than mine.

I just want something faster, or camparibly faster rather, to most cars on the road.

Kind of answer your question?

Yep, my car is faster than my mom's camry. most 'cars on the road' aren't going to ricer race you. as for going fast, fix the oil leak and do other maintenance to it. Maintaining a DSM is definitely a must, if you don't than the engine is bye-bye. After doing the regular maintenance (timing belt, water pump, etc) then start modding. The sky is the limit with modding DSMs. My car is plenty quick as it is for me but I'm planning to get 272s+DSMlink if the car doesnt sell.
