Crank pulley issue

So i did just a simple 6 bolt swap to my 2g this weekend. Started up good, ran perfect. Took it around the block few times everything seemed good, untill on the last trip around the block started hearing a grinding noise. Got home and pulled crank pulley to see it had been rubbing agaist a timing cover and a bolt for the timing cover. That was the grinding noise but it also started to eat away at my oil pump sprocket?? Then on further inspection of crank pull it actually came apart. Now did the crank pulley start rubbing agasit the oil pump sprocket because it was coming apart or because there is a spacer or something i missed when i put it all together? what is all needed when installing crank pulley? thanks any info helps and also looking for a crank pulley lol

Re: Crank pulley issue

Its because the pulley came apart. I had the same thing happen to me when I installed cams in my car. Just get a new pulley and you willbe ready to rock.

Re: Crank pulley issue

That's somewhat common actually. Just make sure to get a stock one or some other type of dampener and not some underdrive pulley.

Re: Crank pulley issue

Sweet thanks guys, I thougt I missed a spacer or something after I redid the timeing and put everything back on. So just to be safe it just slides or the crank sprocket pin and the 4 12mm bolts? And should I use the 1g 6bolt pulley because that's what the motor is . I heard there interchangeable but they have diff weights from 1g and 2g? Does it matter ? Thanks for the help
