what should a 1G GSX 1/4 mile times be?

Ok i have a 1990 eclipse GSX. I have a few things done with it. I have a aftermarket clutch, 190 Walbro fuel pump, MBC, oh and no exhaust. (tried to put on 3in DP on stock cat back uh no dont work) so running with nothing from 02 housing back. my stock boost controller says im running about 13 psi of boost. Anyway what do u think my car can run in the 1/4 mile, also what do u think i could or should turn my boost up to.

And thats assuming that everything is OK on your car, ie no bent valves, decent compression, and the driver plays a good role in 1/4 times as well.

You have to get a boost gauge to find out what your boost level is at. The factory boost gauge is just a rough guessimate of what it thinks the boost is at. I ran mid 14s with just an air filter. Although it was like 50 degrees out. You can do 15psi but you won't get the full effect until you have an exhaust.

Re: what should a 1G GSX 1/4 mile times be?

I've ran 13.86 at 99ish with no exhaust, K&N, free mods and stock clutch. Actually ran high 13s on multiple cars with same mods. Ran 14.0x on FWDs with same mods. This all depends on the condition of the car too. Most of these had all the proper maint. done (timing belt, plugs, wires, fuel filter, etc.)\

And just to set aside any BS....I've had guys run no exhaust for almost a year. But....a nice 3" is much better sounding and....legal.

You have no exaust coming off of the O2 housing? Whoa.

When you say "stock boost controller", you mean your stock guage?

With stock injectors and a stock unhacked MAF my car hits fuel/boost cut at 15/16psi.

Re: what should a 1G GSX 1/4 mile times be?

Sorry I ment stock boost gauge. My engine looks and sounds like it is in good shape. No ticking so it should be good. Engine rebuild is on my list of things to do. Oh what would be some good modifications to get. Like small things for now, bolt on mods, anything. Just wondering what all i should put on my list. But remember were talking about a 16 year olds budget. I do have a job and I dont go to mommy and daddy everytime I need something. I pay for everything. Any way what are some good mods?

Start reading and when you know how to build a car which will rival John Shepherd's, then you can slow down.
