Need a welder! Will Pay!
I ordered a Thermal R&D cat back for my 2g awd. Custom car central said it was a true 3in exhaust but when I received the kit, the exhaust ended up being a 2.25in cat flange that expands to a 3in pipe. I just need someone who can cut 3in off of the flange that connects to the place where the catalytic converter use to be. I have an apexi downpipe that is 3in all the way that eliminates the catalytic converter therefore the catback will not bolt up to my downpipe.
Long story short, can anyone cut and weld a new 3in pipe with a flange for me? Im willing to bring the pipe to you this weekend to get it done and I'll throw some cash on top. Or if anyone knows a shop that will do it for cheap that'd be great too!

Re: Need a welder! Will Pay!
As you can see in the picture I just need that short 2.25in section cut off and replaced with a 3in section with a flange.

Re: Need a welder! Will Pay!
I could do it but I would only do it if the exhaust is on the car. I don't want to weld the flange on wrong and not have it line up.

^^ I'm in the same boat as this guy.
I would do it, otherwise.

Re: Need a welder! Will Pay!
Does the flange on the downpipe rotate at all, or is it welded on? If it rotates, it wouldn't be that risky to do it off the car.

Re: Need a welder! Will Pay!
I'd be surprised if it rotates. I could eyeball it, but its always safer to tack things up on the car.

Re: Need a welder! Will Pay!
Any of you guys near Maplewood? The downpipe is already on and I have the hangers so we could put the exhaust up and go from there. And no the flange does not rotate.

Ohh perfect! You know where I can find the pipe and flange? Will I have to go to MAP? Or can I go to autozone or something?

Re: Need a welder! Will Pay!
You should be able to get a mild steel 3 inch 3 bolt flange at any auto parts store. A 3" stainless flange and pipe might be a little harder to find. If you go to a custom exhaust shop they might give you a short piece they cut off something else. I could weld it for you too but it wouldn't look as nice as the rest of the exhaust because I only have a MIG.

Re: Need a welder! Will Pay!
What do you need, just a small length of 3" SS pipe and a 3" 2-bolt flange? I'll check to see if I have any scraps laying around at home.

Ill call a few exhaust shops and see what they have. Halon if you can find one that'd be great! Let me know if you do!

Re: Need a welder! Will Pay!
I don't really care for looks. Im fine with it as long as it works and doesn't leak. It's under the car anyways.

Re: Need a welder! Will Pay!
I found a small section of 3" stainless exhaust tube in my scraps. It's about 7.5" long. Not sure how long of a piece you need but it's yours if you want to come pick it up in Blaine.

Re: Need a welder! Will Pay!
We will not be around for most of Saturday. I could just leave it outside on the front porch for you though.
