Crank removal Q's

I checked VFAQ , Tuners DIY, and my Manual found nothing. I have a 6 bolt motor out of car, head removed, pistons out, oil pan off, but cant figure out how to get the crankshaft out. Theres gotta be a little stupid trick.

Right now the crack wiggles but just wont come all the way out.

sorry, this should be in internal tech.

I'm assuming you've disconnected the transmission, mains and all that stuff?

On my B18B1 I had to take the end of a wooden mallet and tap it out. Engine oil can create a type of suction to bearing surfaces.

Yeah, its just the block all the belts and water pump have even been removed. I smashed the end on the timing belt side with a weighted rubber mallet. Also I took the 6 bolt peice off the opposite side it had 5 10mm bolts.

You need to either remove the front cover or the rear main seal(or maybe both I cant remember).

Do you need the eninge out and tranny off to remove a crank from a vehicle?

remove the front oil case, the oil pickup filter (remove that first then front case), the rear oil seal, flywheel and the main brackets. that one should have 8 bolts. pry the main brackets to remove them. notice the arrow on the brackets that points to the timing belt side of the engine for reinstallation.

goodluck.

Re: Crank removal Q's

you would need to remove the tranny for clearance to remove the flywheel from the crank. and the there is the rear seal behind that flywheel too. so i suggust remove the whole engine. easier for reinstallation.

later.

Re: Crank removal Q's

I bought just a block from slowbubblecar, I beleive its Jet's old one. He told me that there was a hole in the piston so I went searching. Found no hole but I want to rebuild everything. Ill try what you guys have suggested thanks.
