No one is going to be able to tell you anything without telling what your goals are, what size motor, what set up, etc....

Re: 57 trim good or bad?

The .57 trim turbos have never done all that well. You would be happier with a well set up .50 trim turbo (they are great pump gas turbos) or something like a SC61. You can get into the 11's with a .50 trim, but not in the 10's. Just remember most well tuned DSMs will make 10 hp per lb/min of airflow. So just look at the lb/min rating of a turbo and multiply it by 10 to know what power level you could expect to see as a max hp. You would do well to put some aftermarket cams in the engine also.

Re: 57 trim good or bad?

I would say a SCM61 or similar turbo would be your best choice. I take it you are talking dyno numbers from LSE or DB? A SCM61 might be able to make 500 whp, mine did 460 whp so far at DB.
