got done with my tranny swap, bad master?

today i got done with my tranny swap, everything went well, i missed the cookout though... anyway, today i was driving and sometimes my car would grind, but it wasnt a grind it was more of like a bite or a snap sound. When i put the car in gear before i start it, and then i start it, it will move. But this is only sometimes. And sometimes It wont let me in gear, so i push on the clutch 3-4 times, and then it does. What could this be? Kinda feels like the clutch isnt disengauging. I do have a SouthBend DXD with a unreplaced slave/master cynlinders.

Might be your clutch master cylinder, a good way to check is to just get under the drivers side dash and look up underneath where the master comes into the car. If there is fluid leaking down your firewall then more than likely its going bad.

Might just be out of adjustment too.

I'm gonna say it's the master as well. I had almost the same symptoms in my GSX before i replaced it. Mine actually wasn't leaking at all but it was still bad. How far is your clutch disengaging off the floor? I'm gonna assume it's almost right off the floor. Sounds to me like you're not getting enough 'throw' at the clutch.

You could but I wouldn't, just get the master and you will be good to go.

Yeah, if it's right off the floor, that's exactly what mine was doing. I even adjusted the master cyl. rod but as the car warmed or cooled down the disengagement points would actually change. I changed the master, slave and put in a SS clutch line. DSMPARTSGURU would be the guy to get your stuff from. I got the stuff in like a day and i'm in Wisc. Craig is right about maybe just changing the master. I could have probably just changed the Master and things would have been fine. I think the master was around $70(I can't remember).
