Re: Thinking about Rotas - Offset Suggestion?
I have a similar set to the OZ's you posted, with what I believe is a +40 offset. Don't have tires for them yet, but excited to see how they look/fit. They're white now, will be black, they're a little more old school then the OZ's.
(pic shown below, thanks goodhart)

Re: Thinking about Rotas - Offset Suggestion?
Yep, like I said, I'll be going with the "played out" gloss black look.

Re: Thinking about Rotas - Offset Suggestion?
Hmm. Now I want Wilwoods. I'm really thinking I shouldn't spend anymore money on the car right now as my tranny is on it's way to shep lol.

Re: Thinking about Rotas - Offset Suggestion?
Have you looked at Enkei RP03, or PF01?
Both pretty nice looking wheels, the PF01's are supposed to be super lightweight and look kind of similar to what you seem to be looking for.

Re: Thinking about Rotas - Offset Suggestion?
I have a set of RO_JA Formula 5s for sale. They are only 14.5 lbs each and have pretty good tires on them. I will let them go for 650, the wheels alone were almost 500 a piece new.

Not a bad deal as long as everything is still in nice shape.

I'll see if I can get Chris Johnson to let me try on his 17x8 +35s. I think id prefer the more flush look.
Mo, can you fit 255s on a 17x8 +40 without issue on a 1g?
|
I'm not sure, but based on post #2 in this thread, it would seem like it should work well. My first set of wheels for the dsm are 17x8 +40 and there were no issues. However the tires were only 225's, so who knows what will happen with 255's.

Re: Thinking about Rotas - Offset Suggestion?
I got me some rotas too. 17x9 +25 on a 1g and it sticks out of my fenders about half an inch to an inch. I don't really mind it.

Re: Thinking about Rotas - Offset Suggestion?
I tried on some borrowed shoes from Chris. 17x8 Rota Torques +35 with a 235 tire. They stick out my front fender about 1/2". I really don't like the look. I think a +40 would be nice and flush. BUT. I had enough clearance to side my fingers + Mechanix gloves between my coilover spring seat and the tire. So maybe under 1"? I'm worried a +40 might be too close (with a 245). Maybe I'll have to find out!
