I know it seems like a simlpe thing but I'm having a heck of a time getting my tranny back in. Its either the transfer case in put shaft hitting the PP or the back of the tranny hitting the control arm/rear frame. What I did was raise each side onto blocks of wood/jack trying to get it close as possible and then move it into place but move it one way, it hits something, twist it this way, it hits something else.

Any tricks or suggestion would be great, I'm getting close to getting this car streetable.

Its this car <--- and its on jack stands, no lift for me.

I pulled mine in and out a couple of times. If you have something like a motorcycle tie-down or a strap, it helps to use it to pull the bellhousing end of the engine towards the front of the vehicle. One end on the engine and the other on the radiator support, then pull. May or may not work on a 1g.

Thanks for the idea, I put a big rope around the bell housing so someone on top can move it around a lot and then the person on the bottom just has to hold the heavy end. I tried it by myself and theres more manuverability using the rope compared to pushing from the bottom or lifting from the top.

did you get it back in man? I used to try jacking it up and getting it close and then trying to manuever it in from there. But it never worked. Worked best just lifting the thing right up and in there. It'll slide right in. I know it's easier said then done. But I've been there before too where it just gets stuck. But if you lift it in right, it will just go right in.

I got it put in on Saturday. One person lifted using the rope, another person "benched it" from below and than I just helped lift and twist it into place and Voila!
