You have to register to view that ad; and they have turned registering off, so this thread is basically worthless.

Re: 1991 Eagle Talon AWD $21,500 in mods

Up for sale is my 1991 Eagle Talon AWD. I currently updated my mod list to being $21,588, but I'm sure there is much more over the last 4.5 years of owning that I have forgotten. I'm asking $10,500 obo for it. I'm selling because it is time for me to grow up and pay off some bills that are building up.

As of right this minute it has a rebuilt transmission in it with full internals from Mitsubishi that cost over $1300. I also have another brand new (well 300 miles) tranny from TRE that will be here shortly (paid $2350). It got shipped back to them with a warranty issue, but should be back soon.

I did also just realize that I dont have any up to date photos of the engine bay and interior, so I'll add more pics asap. I don't have an official timeslip for the car, but in the pic with the civic (11.8@125mph) it ran dead even with it from a roll, and this is done on 91oct pump gas tune. So at that mph car should be a 10sec car from a stop.

This mod list also doesn't include the thousands of dollars in labor, tuning, machining, and assembly that has went into this car.

Feel free to PM me with any questions or comments you may have, thanks for looking.

Oh and now the bad, the power windows don't currently work, I had planned on converting them to manual anyways for less weight. The headlights have to be on high beams in order to work, because I did a wire tuck on the monster fuse box under the hood and must have crossed a wire, so when the low beams are on the left headlight motor keeps going, as if it were winking at someone, I will try to round up a second uncut fuse box and wiring harness if you dont want to mess with tracking down the crossed wire.

Your math is off a bit listing a built block for $1600 then listing the rods and pistons separate, same with the head. Nice car though, good luck.

No actually I am correct in listing it the way I did, that was the cost from Slowboy for a brand new block without anything in it. Even now they are selling used blocks with just factory internals for $1758. I mean the internals in my block alone would cost almost $1600, not including the block plus machining.

Re: 1991 Eagle Talon AWD $21,500 in mods

I know how much it all costs, I build engines. I've just never heard of anyone buying a new block, especially when it would have to be bored out for aftermarket pistons anyways. Now I know one more reason why I've never bought anything from Slowboy, ouch. They're worse than Buschnuts.
