Re: Project Winter Beater

I figured out that 98-02 Camaro front brakes are just about a bolt on application. Take some material off the caliper brackets, buy some 300zx (z32) rotors, and then make a spacer for the rotors out of your stock ones:

No washers needed for spacing. Just over an in. thick rotors, and this all fits under stock 16's.

Here's a link to my tooners thread:

Yes they are. Had to fight with a couple slider pins but after some paint, 100% new.

Re: Project Winter Beater

After driving on them a little bit and doing one autox on them, I can say for sure that I need to junk the rear brakes and find a way to fit some Camaro brakes back there.... lol Kept locking the fronts up at the autox on Sunday, it was like the rears weren't even doing anything.

Man, does this thing slow down from 120 good though....

Re: Project Winter Beater

Ordered in some very much needed front struts. KYB GR-2's for the win:

The rears will remain as they are (blown) until I save a little bit.

Re: Project Winter Beater

Scored a red hood, front bumper, and a pair of KYB AGX rear shocks with springs from a local parting his 91 Talon. Car is way more controlled now that I have new/good shocks all around.

Re: Project Winter Beater

Scored some 18's from a good friend yesterday. Came off a twin turbo Stealth. Wrapped in Sumitomo HTR+'s in a 245-40ZR18 size.

I'm in love with them:

Lol, lowered cars are over-rated anyways. I like the stock ride height, it works perfect for a daily. Plus, no rubbing issues even with 245's.
