Re: Big Brown's Automagic - The last episode in my DSM story.
Thanks, I'm working early shift today so hopefully I can have some time after work to get try some stuff to get this thing to try and spray oil all over the place.
Plus most of the house stuff is done, its time to wait.

Re: Big Brown's Automagic - The last episode in my DSM story.
Smoke weed.
No, I took my PCV and vented it instead of recirculating into the intake manifold and I added another vent.
This is in addition to the breather going to the catch can, so now I have 3 instead of 2. But Carl said he was good since venting the PCV.
I also have a way to increase the one I added.

Re: Big Brown's Automagic - The last episode in my DSM story.
wow, so I bought a house a couple of weeks ago and I've been really busy with it.
Now all my cars can live at 45* year round inside.
Plan for winter is to do as little as possible and still drive it next year, with that said I'll be rocking a 5857 in a mitsu housing.
Goal is 130mph traps and to build the car around this setup before changing the turbo again. (A couple of years)

You obviously haven't gotten your gas or electric bill yet if you're keeping your garage that warm.

It was nice in my old townhouse when the garage floor was cold and it was summer outside.

Lol, that won't happen I have enough people keeping me in line. Plus I miss going to the track too much.
I need to sort out my garage still but then I'll start getting the car sorted out.

Re: Big Brown's Automagic - The last episode in my DSM story.
Lol, too late. I'm content with having the 5857, it will get me quick enough for now. I should be able to ET pretty good with it even though right now I just care about trap speed.

Re: Big Brown's Automagic - The last episode in my DSM story.
Picked up a Kiggly flexplate for cheap, along with a shiftbox color.
Hopefully going to get some time in the next few weeks to get working on the car.

Re: Big Brown's Automagic - The last episode in my DSM story.
So decided to use this thing:
It's a 5857 in a mitsu housing I believe .63a/r, hotside is ceramic coated and ported. S-cover.
2/23/14 Kiggly HLA and turbo mock up. Finally worked on the car for a bit.
Seizure pic for Goodhart:
I already have a feed line stuff in place and a fitting to put on a gauge so I know the oil psi at the turbo.
Parts are on the way for the drain line as we speak.
Not sure how much I'll make it outside too cold, even if the garage is warm all the tools and the car itself is like ice, I haven't really been keeping the heat on there since there are too many air leaks for my liking.
Goal is to have it running and driving for april though.

Giggity. Now stick with it son! Shouldn't be too much else to do now but go run some 10's.

Re: Big Brown's Automagic - The last episode in my DSM story.
Damn those cell phone pics look good!!!
Will do, my new goal is to get on the DSMLink fastest times every year. Last year the average time was 10.22 with the slowest being 11.74, Carltalon was on there for the 2nd year in a row.
The first 15 times out of 35 listed were 9s or faster!
Right now I have the following things to install:
Rear bumper diffuser
Mechanical oil psi gauge
Forced Four Shift Box Color
Electric fan for trans cooler
Weld bung for oil pan (turbo drain line)
Wire radiator fans to a switch
Wire Vacuum pump
Make/Buy intake pipe
Weld fittings for Speed Density
Wire in speed density
Tighten housings on turbo
Find a 4-5" coupler for LICP for now or make new pipe.
