Non ABS conversion info thread. Contribute please

Hopefully this thread will turn into a end all info spot for converting your ABS (devil) car into a Non ABS car at least for AWDs as thats what I have.

I have been informed that you can either bend your own lines by renting the tool from a parts store or get lines from another car like yours, aka AWD to AWD, FWD to FWD.

I have a question, can you use FWD non ABS prop. valve and lines and use them to convert an AWD car?

Yes. When I converted mine the lines came off of a FWD car.

GH was that for both the front and rear then? I assume awd wont make a difference respecting the set up of the braking system?

I did it on my 91 GSX last fall; it's really easy if your lines aren't too rusty. You need the front steel lines and the proportioning valve, and that's all there is to it. You don't need to change the rear lines, as they just come to the proportioning valve with or without ABS.

Get rid of stupid ass ABS, clean up the engine bay, remove some weight, what's not to love right?

jrohner has it right. Replace the front lines, proportioning valve, and ~30 lbs of the giant octopus that is your ABS unit. Done.

You also need the two hard lines running from your proportioning valve to the master cylinder. I also went as far as removing the ABS rings on the front hubs as well, never got around to the rears. One of the best mods I ever did to the car.
