Clutch?

I was comming back from a friend's house, when I decided to launch my car once. I slowly dumped it at about 4k-4.5k and it slipped a little at about 5.5k-6k and it felt like a good launch. Burned all 4's (it was a little wet) for a couple of seconds. Then go to the stop sign and just drove it normal afterwards. But my clutch pedal felt really different. It has way less travel time to engage/disengage my clutch. Before I could push the pedal down a few inches before anything happens, now I can only push it forward like an inch before the clutch engages. The weird thing was that i didnt have to push the clutch pedal all the way down anymore, before I used to have to push it all the way down. Does anyone know whats wrong with my clutch?

I have an ACT 2100 pressure plate with street disc and stock flywheel.

You're not supposed to use a stock disc with an aftermarket PP.

Its not a stock disc, its one of those street performance discs that came with the PP when I ordered it. I just have the stock flywheel and I dont know if RS motors resurfaced it right or at all when I had them install it for me. I dont think RS motors does a really good job at all.

Was it just recently done? When I put in my ACT 2600, which actuall came as a xtreme pressure plate and xtreme street disc, not really called a 2600 anymore. It would pick up right off the floor hard. After some breaking in it became much easier to modulate and engaged much smoother.

In rereading your post, you say you push it to engage, all of my cars have engaged when you let it up. So I'm not sure what you are saying. Is it grabbing closer to the floor now or farther up? Have you adjusted the clutch rod?

Oh...my fault if I made it confusing.

It engages when I let off the pedal and its grabbing furthur up from the floor that normal. And I had this put in sometime last Spring, so its been a while (3 rock falls to be exact, haha)....and I havent adjusted the clutch rod.

Adjust the clutch rod. Strange that its actually further from the floor than before, Try adjusting first and see how it is.

I've had this problem before and after letting the car sit for a while, it goes back to normal until its launched again then it gets different.

Adjust the push rod. It sounds like you are getting a "ghost" pedal/pumped up system.

Edit.

So if I adjust the clutch rod, would that only adjust the pedal? If I were to adjust the clutch rod pass the point where the clutch engages, then it would never be engaged...right?
