Automotive Undercoating

I recently just got back into the DSM world and picked up this 1GB that is a total GEM, and I'm wondering if anyone has tried undercoating their car as insurance against rust. Is there a local shop that does this or something and for how much?

The car that I just picked up is really nice and I'm really paranoid about rust now. More on the car later as I will show you guys in another thread once I wash and wax it (not that it needs it, its a head turner as is).

Re: Automotive Undercoating

I've watched a few tutorials on YouTube but are their any tips or tricks to this? Most of the videos on YouTube have the car on a lift which I don't have access to.

The videos look pretty straight forward, but like I said I don't have access to a lift. Is there a certain shop that will not only do this for me, but do a superb job as well. I want to get my car undercoated ASAP after I buy some new tires (they're worn out and I rand over a nail while bringing the car home from my little road trip to go get it).

^You don't like to get dirty do you?

I had mine on jackstands and did it. Key is in the prep, get the body clean then paint away.

Re: Automotive Undercoating

No I don't mind getting dirty but seeing that if I did do it, it would be my first time and I feel that I should have a professional do it because this car is just too nice. I feel like this car should belong to a car collector. I don't even want to drive it. Trust me Aaron, this car is that nice. Just wait until I have some time and its a nice day out so I can wash, wax, and take pics of it to show you guys. I'll give you a hint, despite being a 1GB, it still has the new car smell. I kid you not, it still does. It's that nice.

Re: Automotive Undercoating

I wanna get a beater for those very reasons and this time NO one is driving or using my car for anything. I'm still upset at my mom for backing up into my old Talon :'(

...but back to the topic. I need this new car undercoated asap and I need to get a hold of a nice place that does it. I kindof want to try it just because but I don't want to mess anything up on a car like this.

Re: Automotive Undercoating

Hey Mark can you PM me your cell again? I don't have it anymore. This is Pao if you remember me or not. You gave me some free interior panels for my old 1G and fixed my brake lines for me when you worked briefly at MAP a while ago.
