Temp guage install.

Hey, my temp guage took a crap on me, and being that my car has been overheating i decided it was finally time to replace the bitch. so i got an aftermarket one. is there anything i should be concerned about when doing this install or is there any instructions online about this, I looked on vfaq but was unable to find anything.
Im also doing a A/F guage install.
I have a 99 GSX.

Re: Temp guage install.

Are you trying to figure out how to hook it up? I think the a/f gauge on your car has a auxilary port you can plug a male connector into, like on my 1g, but then again, you might hafta tap off of one of the ECU wires. As for the temp gauge, use teflon tape to install the sensor, and the fitting, so it doesn't leak. Other then that, it's straight forward..instructions should be inside the gauge box.

Re: Temp guage install.

If your temp gauge stopped working, are you sure it was the gauge and not the temp sensor??

Re: Temp guage install.

yeah im sure is was the temp gauge, due to the fact that i fried the circuit board that was leading to the temp gauge on the back of the gauges a while ago.
I have the new a/f gauge working but the temp gauge is gonna be tricky because i have to find a place to tap in being that it is a mechanical one. Im thinking that i will have to tap into the thermostat housing.
On kind of a side note, does anyone know if there is a remote wire under the hood, one that only is on when the car is on?
