As far as this goes,( there is a debate but most metallurgy finds this to be untrue)
To weaken or change the metals structure, you would have to heat it much higher and much longer to do anything to it, also when you get into tempering and such, the way it cools down is also a huge part.
So yes this is untrue, (in our case anyway,)

Cast aluminum and magnesium parts may experience out-gassing and or bubbling in the finished powder coating caused by porous coatings.

I read on a couple metallurgy/engineering/machining sites about this and while it can/does happen it probably isn't necessarily something to worry about. I'd personally just rather err on the side of caution and use a lower temp application with a short heat and cooling cycle.

yes we usually out gas parts when we feel this could be a problem,

You would want that stuff ceramic coated and yes they do it.. maybe ill post up a pic tonight of my manifold they did. They do great coating work there!
