Cast aluminum and magnesium parts may experience out-gassing and or bubbling in the finished powder coating caused by porous coatings.

I read on a couple metallurgy/engineering/machining sites about this and while it can/does happen it probably isn't necessarily something to worry about. I'd personally just rather err on the side of caution and use a lower temp application with a short heat and cooling cycle.

yes we usually out gas parts when we feel this could be a problem,

You would want that stuff ceramic coated and yes they do it.. maybe ill post up a pic tonight of my manifold they did. They do great coating work there!

How much to powder coat a set of 4 Honda CRV 15" alluminum wheels? No tires, no wheel weights, etc.

Obviously will need to be stripped/prepped and powdercoated.
