Also, titanium is MORE DENSE than aluminum; i.e. heavier.

To get an advantage using it, you'd have design a new compressor with thinner features to take advantage of the higher strength.

Re: Damn FP, Kevin u should get his

wow i had no idea they already made a billet 50-trim... from the sounds of it, the turbo definately does produce some power and flow, but im really interested to see how well it does with a decently modded dsm on the dyno!

Re: Damn FP, Kevin u should get his

I just got off the phone with FP and I talked them into sending one to Curt Brown, I pm'd him and he called them now its on its way so shortly we will have results.

They held 32psi to 7k, i asked 7500 he said yeah but internal will be tough but doable then u might not be able to run low boost (i said F that). He said then yeah.
Upgrades are a possibility down the road but for now, nogo.
Other FP turbos will get HTA treatment. I said well i could do a 20G and wait.
But I loved the low end of the 16G having the TQ of V8 cars when I wanted but the ability to walk around them was awesome.

To be honest if this turbo acts as they said it has I might of found my first NEW turbo.

Re: Damn FP, Kevin u should get his

Lol well he is in the market for a new turbo a 16g.
I can say that I do love it, but I got an external gate comi for this and I am really happy with this trbo.
Maybe when I get home or once cb puts up some results.
I do wanna dyno at DB though I miss my 16g car a little bit

Hmm, I'm already running an external gate off the o2 housing so that wouldn't be an issue, and 32 PSI to red line in a TD05 housing sounds pretty dang nice. I already picked up an evoIII 16g, and will probably be installing it within the next few weeks, but I might have to pinch some pennies over the winter depending on what kind of numbers this thing makes.

if i get a good job next year, this will be on the list right before/after the 272s. this turbo is quite amusing.

Re: Damn FP, Kevin u should get his

Praise the lord!!! I have been waiting for months and months and months for FP to come out with this turbo. To bad I don't own my Talon anymore or this bad bish would be on it within a week.

I've always been about the 'sleeper 16g' or evoIII16g because of the quick spool, low end power, and high torque. Now there is one that can hold a good amount of boost until redline on a street car.

This would be a beast of a turbo on a 2.3 stroker E85 street car. You would hardly even be able to notice any lag with the stroked engine and the extra exhaust gasses from the E85.

i think this turbo is a cool design but is a huge waste of money and time...

they should be more focused on making a 50trim extended tip fin design so that you can get more top end pull out of it. that would be worth the extra money!
I'd rather buy a new turbo for a little extra money than one that been blown up and "sold as new" basically polishing a turd. It may be more $ at first but in the long run its probably cheaper.

sorry to get off topic

Re: Damn FP, Kevin u should get this: FP 68HTA DSM

Update! You guys should know that bananas has this same compressor wheel on his owwdee, but in a gt28rs shell.

Should make for some 280-300whp pump gas DSM's with the right handful of mods!

Now I want to see this on kevin's car more than ever!

Haha I think I'll stick with the evo3 16g I have now, and pinch my pennies over the winter and maybe pick one up in the spring. It definitely looks like a nice turbo.

When they came out with this one did they stop making the FP18g 6sl2?? can't find that anywhere on the market. try extremepsi.com, even try FP store and can't find it. may be this new turbo scared the 18g 6sl2 away LOL...

I'd like to see the numbers on E85. If it would actually hold boost all the way to redline, I will buy one tomorrow. My Shane tuned E3 16g is hitting 29psi at 3700 and 21psi by 6700. I'd love to hold boost since the power drops off at 6k pretty hard.
