4b11t going into new RWD Hyundai coupe
http://www.autoblog.com/2007/11/15/e...genesis-coupe/
$19k for a 2.0 turbo RWD sports car, sounds like a good combo to me! Hopefully a lot of the aftermarket parts for the 4b11t will be cross-compatible with these other platforms!

Where in the article does it say anything about the 4B11T?

Re: 4b11t going into new RWD Hyundai coupe
Given that Hyundai sources a lot of their drivetrain parts from Mitsu, it's probably a safe assumption.

Re: 4b11t going into new RWD Hyundai coupe
Looks pretty sweet. Given Hyundai's quality improvements over the last few years, I'm actually excited about this

Re: 4b11t going into new RWD Hyundai coupe
Yes, but the sedan is a bit bigger than the coupe, like this one. I have been hearing 4b11t also for quite a while, plus the V6. With the commute I will have to work, I may get one of these. I have been looking for a new platform to get in on and really support, this may be it. It reminds me of the 1g's, cheap, easy to mod and fun.

Re: 4b11t going into new RWD Hyundai coupe
Looks like a really nice little car. Great style and color scheme. Any word why they would do a RWD? Is there a direct competitor they are targeting? Or is it a way to get a more sleek smaller front end without having to add a power bump? haha
So far I am really liking it. The newer Hyundai's really are nice. The last company I worked for I purchased an Accent for a delivery car and it blew the Focus's away for reliability and was a lot nicer to drive. Switched the fleet over to them. How Focus stuck around is beyond me. Constant stupid problems and needed constant rotations to keep the tires from wearing odd. Hope this one delivers a easy to mod platform.

They are going against the Mustang. I think they are going to sell like hot cakes for $20k! Hopefully the weight stays down decent.

Re: 4b11t going into new RWD Hyundai coupe
I like it. I'd buy one as a daily driver.
And then I'd mod it to the point that it's a pain in the ass and breaks all the time.
And then I'd be pissed.
And then I'd have to buy a daily driver..

Re: 4b11t going into new RWD Hyundai coupe
haha, I was just adding a comment on the quality of Hyundai as I drove a few different models lately. Now if it was AWD then it Would be the best/fastest delivery car ever. Obviously.

Re: 4b11t going into new RWD Hyundai coupe
I kinda like the RWD platform. Even though AWD is fun, I still think RWD is more fun

Re: 4b11t going into new RWD Hyundai coupe
I love that the turbo-4 is going into the base model. It means they'll be plentiful, cheap and should build some real aftermarket support.

Re: 4b11t going into new RWD Hyundai coupe
Hmm, weight doesn't look real low. The Sedan is 3,800 lbs with a V8 and this one is smaller and they were concentrating on weight, so I would guess around 3,400 lbs.
