Thanks, it was nice until a kid on a cell phone hit me.
Yeah, I was just checking that out, its not showing any of the photos I uploaded. They obviously uploaded somewhere because the two photos of my car in my previous post I just uploaded to the gallery? I'll figure it out.

The getrags are PITA to rebuild. I have a copy of the rebuild manual and you need an oven to heat parts up to a certain temp and then have them pressed off or on. No one rebuilds them and if they have they don't hold up. My last getrag was out of a beretta GT with the Rodney Dickman conversion kit and ultimate short throw setup.
I did have a tranny start to make a god awful sound actually on my V8 swap. It had 180,000miles, the last 40,000miles were on the V8. Tons of launches and abuse. What went out was the input shaft bearing on the tail end of the tranny, gears and syncros were perfect.
I also had ground control coil overs, and poly bushings in the rear along with the addition of a sway bar. It really helped with bump steer. I have seen people use a front sway bar and some aftermarket endlinks to mount it up in the rear. On that setup it would be best to upgrade the front bar to a larger bar.
How has your cooling on the setup been so far?

Re: project reach-around
well with jim saying to put a sway bar in, my father did that for me today. the gear in the tranny is bad for the speed sensor so no speedo anymore.

Re: project reach-around
You don't need a speedo, just drive next to people and yell out the window to ask how fast they're going.

Re: project reach-around
been a while but got all new brakes on the car today and some better tires put on it so it can be actually driven. Still have to wire chase and find out why the speedo stopped working.

Re: project reach-around
drove the car around town a lil tonight with my handy gps acting as a speedo. so the car needs a bigger radiator and for some reason the rear pass side ebrake is dragging. after those are taken care of more street tuning will take place.

Re: project reach-around
well I got a mech water temp gauge at work and plugged it in just to check, the sock gauge is completely wrong reads about 100 degrees higher than it should be so the radiator is good. the brakes are better after flushing the system out and then putting return springs on the e-brake arms. The rear pass side still hangs a lil though but not like it was.
my dad has been playing with the carb jetting it up and it ts running a lot better then it was just some playing with is to see what we can do to make it better and start adding timing.
