front o2 sensor not reading

""why cant we teach it to reeeeeaadd!!"

anyways. i noticed at idle under full temp that in dsmlink the front o2 sensor will not flip back and forth and is just outputting one solid signal of around .10 volts. and wont idle in closed loop.

i replaced the sensor twice and same thing. even checked the harness to make sure signal was getting through.

looking for suggestions.

Exhaust leaks? Sensor isn't getting warm enough?

there might be a small leak at the downpipe but other than that shes good. i didnt think a leak after the sensor would cause it not to function at all.

Maybe it's just lean.

Re: front o2 sensor not reading

should have mentioned this earlier. ive got a wideband and i made it read 14.7 at idle. still no switching. tried running it really rich and really lean and no changes to the front o2

Re: front o2 sensor not reading

i think the problem might be more with getting the car to idle in closed loop rather than the o2 not working.

dsmlink does report coolant temps. even with temps around 190 still no closed loop at idle.

Re: front o2 sensor not reading

i would try checking connections + grounds with volt meter. If the 02 is not moving at all its not warming up thus no reading . A aem wb should bounce around at idle 13.8-15.6 afrs when 02 is cycling.

The wb gauge needs a clean 12v source and good grounds as well or they wont read right at all. NOTHING on the radio harness ... is acceptable

id pull the wb o2 out and check and see if that gets warm it takes a few min when it dose the gauge will pegg out --- means its working

now if it only reads 14.7-14.8 the connector is loose or possibly bad

i have had 7 of the ugo wb they all are picky and just suck +1 for innovative wb and plx

i do know the aem have narrow band sim its the white wire on the harness i think you set it to p04 and .90~.01 is what should be coming out

in link voltages up in the .98 is rich as hell .01 is lean

there are so many things that can keep it in open loop and is really no fun at all ... good luck ... if the car had any race fuel or any additives it will eat the 02 sensors up been there ...

and if your having trouble getting it to idle what are you active maf settings between 50-150 and timing readings . maf's do go bad and will cause bad readings make the car run like crap or just not idle

and if your biss is out of adjustment not enough air past the plate or too much it will mess with your and maf readings " kinda like having a vacuum line off "

Re: front o2 sensor not reading

the car starts runs and idles well. the WBo2 will change accordingly when adding fuel and taking it away in dsm link. though i am going to switch to a plx wideband for better logging.

if it wasnt for dsm link i wouldnt know it was stuck in open loop at all with the way it runs now.
