Thanks for the results. Not my area of expertise, so I'll wait to here what others say. But doesn't look like my (new) JMF did all that bad in compared to most of the competition thus far. At least in this test that is. I'm sure there's plenty more to an IM's performance other then what was tested here.

Wow looks like Magnus FTL. So what would 11-18% difference on # 1 do to our cars on a moded motor?

Re: SMIM Showdown! Lets figure this out once and for all!

Good info, now we need to have some interpretation on all that data. LSE's looked really good on paper, but how would the larger volume affect performance on different setups? Things like that I don't know.

EDIT: Also how do I tell if I have the new or old JMF intake? The engraved logo I have looks like brandon's, does that make it the new version?

I'm assuming, your losing power on #1. Figure just that cylinder is running nearly 20% richer than the rest...

Nice page! Looks like John might have to start making some of those manifolds?

So which one did the best? I feel like I'm getting stupider when I try to read the test results..

That or a few cylinders are running lean if people tune on the edge which could be bad.

Looks to me like the LSE prototype. Good flow numbers and very consistant. Others have good numbers but, they lack consistency.

I would think you would have a much better chance or running rich on that cyl. With 75% comming from the other 3 cyl chances are you would likely be pulling more of a the tune off them. My guess....???

Re: SMIM Showdown! Lets figure this out once and for all!

As you guys are noticing, what I really did notice wasn't the differences in peak numbers, but consistency of the manifold. Hell, these all are pretty close max flow. To get the engine running optimumly with a "faulty" manifold, you would have to have the ability to tune fuel delivery per cylinder.

Beyond that, an engine is going to run best, and behave the best if all 4 cylinders are making the same amount of power. If you have one runner that has 10% less air, you wold have reduce the fuel accordingly. But in doing this, that cylinder will make less power because it is consuming less air/fuel mixture.
