Bad MAF?

So, my ralliart has been experiencing some... "technical difficulities" lately. Our mechanics have been on the phone for a couple days with an engineering team at Mitsubishi themselves. This is apparently a problem they've never seen before. I'll try to descibe it, but I also have a video I could post if that would help. I'm wondering if anyone else has ever had this happen/knows what it is.

I'll be driving along and suddenly I'll see "ASC System Service Requrired/Transmission Service Required" in the center display. The Stability Control Off light comes on, as well as the Service Engine light.

The RPMs rev up and down rapidly from 1-1.5k, and the car does not accelerate like it is supposed to. It doesn't down shift to give you more power. It also shifts really hard (shudders) when it does eventually shift.

Anyone have a clue?

Its a mitsu thats the problem. Haha
