Okay cool. Would you mind getting me details on it? Like price? Is it the standard or race comp cover? What compressor wheel? Exhaust a/r
I need the standard cover with the 5in inlet and would prefer a 67mm or 71mm but might consider bigger if the price is right. You can pm me if you don't want all the details in the thread. Thanks!

Re: my new project
Just for comparison sake, here's a pic of the BW .88AR undivided T4 housing (left) compared to a T67 .68AR T4 housing (right).
The AR numbers aren't really that much different, but remember AR is just a ratio of Area to Radius, so the numbers can be a little deceiving. The pic makes it pretty clear how much larger the housings are and how much more air they flow. The "R" is obviouslly way bigger, so the "A" must be much larger too.

I wonder how thick those housings are?

Re: my new project
Hmmm I wonder how their .90 or 1.00 would compare to my gt42 .91. From my understanding from the research I've done the housings are very similar in dimensions to my gt42. But maybe they were just talking about the comp cover and not the turbine housing. I'll have to look into the dimensions more and make sure it will fit

Re: my new project
Are you going divided? There have been tests done on the divided housings showing that the "smaller" .91 housing made just as much power as the one 1 size larger, yet improved the spool. That is why I got the .91. Then once I realised the housings are massive, and the number is a little deceiving, I understood why. I think there is a divided one in the .8x size range, I've been contemplating switching to that.
Lots of really good info here:

Re: my new project
I'll have to check my exhaust manifold and see if that is divided or undivided. but will probably go with a divided either way lol

Re: my new project
Well I got the long block assembled and ready to have the cams degreed. Now I just need the cams degreed, clutch rebuild kit and an upgraded clutch fork and the engine can go back in finally.
Also when I was going through my parts I found my oil pick up tube but map had already put on my oil pan. I figured map probably installed a new one but for my own peace of mind I pulled the oil pan and of course they did but I snapped a picture of the main girdle

Yep! It will definitely be ready by spring. Hopefully I'll have the engine in by the end of this month or early January at the latest then ill just need a turbo and a tune and she'll be driveable :-)

Re: my new project
okay here's a little update on where things are sitting with the engine build, where the car sits for supporting mods, and my winter plans on what I want to get done to it.
the long block is basically assembled and ready to have the cams degreed (pending funds for now). I just ordered a bunch of miscellaneous little gaskets and o-rings needed from white bear mitsu. I want to get this thing as put together as possible.
I'm not changing much other than the engine and turbo.
Map stage 2 Short block:
.020 over wiseco 1400hd 8.5:1
Pauter xbeam
Stock crank
Main girdle
Cylinder head:
Ferrea springs and retainers
Ferrea competition plus +1mm valves
Comp 101400 camshafts
Adjustable cam gears
Full port and polish
Turbo system:
Turbo???????? (previous turbo: garrett gt4294 .91 a/r)
Red jack racing tubular top mount t4 manifold
Tial 38mm wastegate
4in vband down pipe
Intake system:
Redjack racing fmic
3in intercooler piping
Jmfab drag intake manifold
Q45 throttle body
Fuel system:
Twin walbro 310lph fuel pumps (not verified)
Larger fuel line
Larger fuel rail
F.I.C. 2150cc injectors
Aeromotive fpr
Aeromotive fuel filter
Tuning:
AEM ems
Drivetrain:
Powertrain technology twin disk clutch
Shep stage 4 transmission with welded diff
Shifter bearings
Scatter shield
winter plans for it are:
getting cams degreed, new clutch disks, and clutch fork and get the engine back in the car asap
Fix or replace my wideband
Fix my fuel pressure gauge inside the car
Fix tachometer
Put some carpet in it to clean up the interior a little
Full blown dual pump hanger to get rid of the rusty modified stocker
run new wiring for the fuel pumps
basically do everything to take care of the voltage drop I was getting at the pumps as possible then just for some added security I think i'm going to get a boost a pump too
and then get a new turbo. I'm still open to any ideas or suggestions here! so feel free to chime in ! I'm still leaning towards a bw 67mm s400sx but the fp hta4294 looks like another very reasonable option. Others that are floating around in my head (but will need to intake and exhaust) are the pte 6466, pte 6766, and fp hta3794.
guess thats it for now. sorry for the long post lol

Re: my new project
Is that manifold divided t4? If its open, you could pair it with a divided turbo and a QSV to help with spool for streetability.

Re: my new project
Honestly i dont remember. I think it is open but I will double check next time I'm up at the car. I've heard of the quick spool valve but no idea how it works lol.

Just a boost actuated valve that blocks off one scroll of a divided turbo, effectively reducing the AR of it (which we all know increases spool) until boost kicks in and it opens up allowing both scrolls to flow when at full boost.
Id like to get one but they are expensive.
