Anyone interested in crewing or driving in Chumpcar in 2014?

If so, PM me! We need people, i'll fill you in on the details.

Crew gets to come along free, drivers split expenses.

Going to be hitting some cool tracks this year, potentially VIR and maybe others.

If you come down to vir or cmp let me know I might be interested or maybe I can get my brother to come (he's the driver in the family... racing instructor)

I wish I could, when the kids get a bit older, I'll be in. Free time is short with 3 kids.

Really wish I lived closer, I've been trying to get a team going here and nobody is interested.

You don't need to start a team to try it out, I think that is a common misconception. Just find a team to rent a seat from for starters. There is a team called "Team Miaro" (miata) that is based out of iowa somewhere... I know he rents out seats to people. But you can drive with teams from other states too. As long as you have some HPDE experience, you can probably find a seat.

I'd like to try it out, but I don't feel like I'm good enough for the teams that I know about. (yours included)

BB you can't think that way, hell I'm going to have a team this year and I can't say I'm any better than you would be, especially since you've given me a run already in the Miata. Once I know more about how we are finalizing the team ownership structure I'm sure we'll be looking as well. I can't wait!

Thanks for the tip, just checked out their FB page and it looks like it was retired. Maybe they will have a new car next year. Me and a friend here are hoping to join a team (since creating one seems useless), I will keep an eye out for seats.

If you come to Newton Iowa Speedway next year, let me know and I'll be willing to help crew or drive if you need someone. I have a massive 5 HPDE days under my belt (lol), hopefully a few more next year.

I don't believe chumpcar is going there anymore (iowa speedway), people got bored of it. It may come back.

Yeah and with the holidays there has been no movement. We have 3 members and a car so we need to finalize our end first.

AJ, mind if I ask what you are running? Let me know if you have any questions, have you been to a race yet? If you haven't, I highly recommend just coming and hanging out, crewing or working.

We'll be campaigning a new car this year as well, super excited! We'll also be running hopefully at least one or more World Racing League Events.

We are setting up a a older 5.0 fox body. Should be a blast. I've never been to an event before. We are looking for our initial race to be something later in the year so if something works I'd be happy to get to an event and get the hands dirty behind the scenes as well for more familiarity.

Yea, it's like 24 hours of lemons, with less silly themes, no stupid punishments, slightly faster cars overall, less penalties, more serious teams...

Thanks to DB for the space! Should I clearcoat the rusty hood and run it like the VW guys do?
