New from ND

Whats up everyone. I have been wandering this site quite a bit and just now finally got a mitsu. Kinda. lol. Its a 1990 Laser RS turbo. It does need some work, but thats why i got it, and for the price i couldn't let it pass by. Well, here it is.

Re: New from ND

Thanks.
Ya the previous owner did that cause he was racing 1/8th mile with it. Its a 3 inch megan downpipe to 3 inch pipe with a dynamax race pack. I have never heard it, but it should sound good.

What do you mean kinda? You got a 4G63 in that thing son, represent!

What's the condition of this thing, does it run? Looks pretty stock, which is a great place to start. Good luck getting it up and rockin!

Re: New from ND

First off, no its not an impound lot. lol. That was at the shop were it was sitting.

The car is pretty stock except the exhaust. The previous owner was running an aftermarket BC on it and thats about it.

My plans are to figure out what happened to the motor. So ya, it dont run. lol. The previous owner said that the balance shaft belt went out on it and when they tried to turn it over by hand that it wouldn't go. So he said the piston might have slapped the head. But the timing belt is tight. There is a groove on the timing belt on the very inside edge of it. So i am gonna tear down the front of the engine and see if i can find something that might be jamming it up.

Re: New from ND

Well torn into the car today. The timing belt had teeth stripped off it. So bent valves. Great. So now i am looking for a new head. Or maybe a Cyclone motor. Not sure yet.

JDM engines are dumb, they don't do anything special except make you poorer because you pay more for them. Find a running engine locally and put it in and you'll be good to go.

Re: New from ND

Ya right now i am just looking for a head, not a complete motor. And i would love to find a good running motor thats close, but that aint happening. This motor had great compression numbers before the timing belt went, so hopefully a new head will do just fine on it. I didn't want to do it, but i am thinking about putting up my wideband for sale so i can get a head.
