Looking for quieter tires.

So the last few years, I have run BFGoodrich g-force KDW tires on my daily drivers. This year, I am in need of a replacement tire and I am looking at something a bit quieter than the BFG's were, because they would just HOWL during highway cruising. However, I don't want to sacrifice all of the performance that the BFG's had, they were sticky as hell. So I was wondering if any of you Auto-X guys, or other tire freaks in general had any suggestions for me?

I'm pretty sure my tire size is 215/45 18" or a 225/45 18

P.S.
I have been looking at the Falken Azenis ST115 and they look like a pretty good compromise of what I'm looking for. I am still reading tire reviews and looking, but I figured I would ask for some suggestions in the time being.

Re: Looking for quieter tires.

Michelin Pilot Sport PS2's are pretty quiet for a performance tire. It's only a summer tire though. I've been in a few cars that have the Continental ContiSportContact 2's. Those are pretty quiet for a performance tire too.

Re: Looking for quieter tires.

I have had 2 sets of PS2's, one on my M3 and now the A4 . They came with the car brand new both times. At more than 250 a pop though, id never buy them personally. haha

They are super quiet and traction is great.

On a budget for quiet tires with great traction, Id look at Falken FK452s which are a step newer than the ST-115. I had the ST's on my old 1g and loved them, also had the FK's on my exs TL. I liked those more.

Otherwise look into Sumitimo HTRZ III. Those seem to be the bang for the buck sticky tire.

Are the Sumimoto's quiet though? Are they good in the rain? The BFG's had outstanding wet traction.

Also, not really looking to blow $1000 on tires I only run 7 months out of the year

Re: Looking for quieter tires.

Looks like Discount tire has the FK452's for $132/tire. The HTR Z III is $134/tire and the PS2's are $282/tire.

The PS2's are out, but I'm really liking the reviews on the FK452's.

I'll either be going through Discount Tire because there is one in St. Cloud now, or Tires Plus, since I get the Friends and Family discount there.

If you go through discount tire make sure you get your tire price off of tirerack.com and they honor it.

Re: Looking for quieter tires.

I've got the HTR ZIII, had them on the DSM and they're currently on the 240. I love them, great traction in the wet and in the dry, not overly loud on the freeway, and they seem to be wearing pretty well too. My recommendation goes to them.
