Re: Lucky #13...Back in the saddle....92 rt/tt
Update:
Car has been sitting essentially since May. Except for pulling a few parts to help locals diagnose issues on their cars it hasn't been touched. Still awaiting to pull the trigger on .020" overbore pistons through MAP, hope my quote from a few months ago is still good.
Once pistons are ordered machine work on the block can begin with assembly. Plan hasn't changed much, Forged shortblock good for 700awhp backing up a set of newish 13t's (WRX Turbo's). The record for these turbos on E-85 is 501awhp on a mustang dyno with piggybacks, I'd like to break that, but the car will make what it makes. I figure around 400 on pump gas is attainable with the setup and 450+ on E-85 should make a stout street car.
Bought a boat this summer and the wife a new car last week has put this car on the backburner. Plus with us house shopping it is even lower priority, but I do fully intend on having it on the street next spring. I'd like to rebuild the transmission, add a brace, and swap in shorter gears ala what Ryan did with his Green car, but time will tell.

Buying a boat this summer? Fall is upon us my friend, but I will put in a shameless plug because I'm selling a boat.

Re: Lucky #13...Back in the saddle....92 rt/tt
Well bumping this one up from the dead as I am starting to make headway on the project. Scrapped the DIY built motor and decided to just source on from Pampena Motorsports. Got one of their stage three 4 bolt shortblocks and it should be here in roughly two weeks.
http://store.pampenamotorsports.com/...ackages-5.html
As my motor was trashed, no core was available.
Finished sheetrocking the garage so the Stealth is finally inside back in its new home. Total days outside in the past 13 months = 26.
I think with a little luck I can have it at PG2 this year. If not I'll get it running right before winter so I can sit and look at it all winter.
Pictures to come once the motor shows up. Also got some HD wastegate springs for the future TD04's. Maybe I can pull the boat anchor out of the chassis in a few weeks once my fence is up at the new house (priorities get in the way of car builds sometimes!).

Sweet. I couldn't make PG11 because of work, I'm mostly ready for the SO and PG2, just have to do lots of suspension work and general clean up. It's nice having a nice running car so early in the year.

Re: Lucky #13...Back in the saddle....92 rt/tt
Progress:
Walbro E85 fuel pump arrived today with install kit. I needed a bit more fuel than the DW301 offered, so I upgraded.
Stage 3 "1000hp" shortblock shipped last Friday I was told
I may get the old motor out this week if this heat goes away. Room in garage for new motor, will take pictures when it shows up.
If heads are good = "monster TD04's"
If heads are not good = "reasonable TD04's"
Still should scoot pretty well on E-85.

LOL.
I'd like to put DR750's on there, something that has done 600awhp on 93 octane, but they are mucho bucks and I can't justify ordering them until everything else checks out.
There are some billet 19t's that have hit the market with good reviews, they are substantial cheaper ($1000+ cheaper) and those are tracking to be around 500-550awhp on 93 octane. Granted you turn them both up on E-85 and you hit that "enough power" mark pretty quickly.

Re: Lucky #13...Back in the saddle....92 rt/tt
Sounds like you are gunning for a minimum of 600whp, question is DJ or DD whp?
2nd question because we are getting older and there are a growing number of skirts, will this see street time? :uhoh: (my guess is yes)

Most of the 3/s guys use dynojets, so those are the results I am quoting. In the end it is all about a fun street car, Ryan's stealth "only" made 440awhp on a dynojet and that car was very quick.
Street time: To and from work, yes indeed.
Cruises, yes.
"Downtown" probably not but for a few times a year tops as that scene has mostly died it appears; or I am so far removed that I have no clue anymore.

lol, its a lot less than it used to be. But there is still some happenings, best way is to organize it rather than just get out imo.
Well glad to see this coming together, be good to have more people to roll with.

Re: Lucky #13...Back in the saddle....92 rt/tt
Stage 3 shortblock is sitting on the workbench. I couldn't decide on turbo's, so I bought this instead:
Wife's GTI is in the background. I've always wanted a sport bike and figured I wouldn't have time to finish the stealth this fall, so why not have some fun and work on it over the winter?

Previous owner went 12.05 or something like that around 116? Its fairly quick for an "old outdated slow 600"
I think pro riders get 11.21 @ 123 mph out of them. This one has a stage 1 jet kit, slip on, and is -1 in the front, so should have a bit more acceleration than stock.
Cheaper than a set of turbo's

Some billet TD04's, you have to remember I am buying stuff in a less supported platform with fewer options, and I need to buy a pair of turbo's
