Well as some of you know I went out to Virginia and picked up this beauty.
I found it originally on ebay and was a little skeptical but the guy had a perfect feedback for over 10 years. So as the bidding went on I capped myself at 15,500 and told myself I wouldnt go anymore. Of course it didnt happen like that and I went to 16,200 and was like okay this is it no matter what. About an hour later someone else over bid me and the car ended up selling for 17,100. Game over right? Well during the week it was for sale I was in contact with seller and told him if it doesnt sell or if the buyer ends up being shady let me know asap and that I would be a player around the 16,500 range. The day after it ended he messaged me and said hey lets make a deal on the car, he said the winning bidder never sent a deposit or contacted him. So here is my chance to own my dream car (only 179 were made of this model in white and 179 in red.)...but its ebay, why isnt it on evom? why so cheap? Over the next few days we made a deal at 16,500, found out the guy was an avid evo owner over the years (this being his 6th one). So everything had checked out on the seller. A buddy of mine did a carfax on it for me and everything came back perfect.
3 previous owners, the first one owning it to 88k miles where the factory clutch had finally gone out. The next guy had it til this August where he sold it with a blown t case. The guy I bought it from only put about 100 miles on it after he fixed the tcase. He said he just didnt have time to enjoy the car between running his business and being a family man.
My buddy and I left Monday around noon and arrived at his place Wednesday morning. (1130 miles one way) When I got there I test drove the car and it drove flawlessly, its shifts like butter. My 8 never shifted this nice, I was in love!! The only real downfall after I checked over car was just how dirty the paint was and some of the silly carbon fiber crap on it. All of which can be and is already on its way off the car. Everything else was exactly how the seller described it so after some good stories from the sellers previous evos and racing events we loaded her up and made the treck home and arrived Thursday night around 10pm. It was good to be home not gunna lie
its funny how awesome MN seems after you drive out of state and hit some of the most boring areas in the US lol.
My initial plans for car are to return it to mostly stock and do e85/pump tunes. Also a timing belt/water pump service will be done too. Then drive it!! And yes it'll certainly be on the track next yr as well!!

(license plate is only on fmic because I didnt have plates for it yet and wanted to drive it to my buddies heated garage so I took my evo 8 plates and put them on here for the night lol)
