what the hell is wrong now

well my tsi is weird, when ur driving like 30-40 the drivers wheel shakes bad, i think it may be the wheel bearing, makes a squeking noise as well. i cant drive it as is, cuz i am afraid the wheel will fall off, is it the wheel bearing, or what might it be? i need to figure thi out asap. thanks.

Take the front wheels off and put them back on to make sure they're centered. If that doesn't fix it take it in to get the wheel balanced.

if you jack it up, can you get any free play in the hub? or any front to back movement?

Yeah jacking it up will tell you a lot, like the above mentioned check all the obvious, if you can take your wheel and rock it back forth (with the bolts obviously all the way on) it's probably a wheel bearing.

I drove my Legacy with a bad wheel bearing for a while and the wheel didn't fall off, not saying you should but you should be able to make it to a place to get it fixed. Another thing to mention is when I had a bad one on the left, when I would take right turns it would change in tone.
