Re: fender flairs

I believe they're actually for older Nissans. I'll get the link, one sec.

Sickest 1ga I've seen actually.

Click for a link to some flares (Not for DSM, for S13

For 2g

Also, there's a guy in Fargo that rents out a Fender Roller. You can try that route...

I was contemplating getting flairs when I get wider wheels. Some dudes are rockin 9" wide shoes now!

Oh yeah and I found all my information on Toonerz. Under Road Racing & Autocross.

Re: fender flairs

Nah, mine are 9" wide, I've actually got the same wheels in the first picture above but with a different offset. They stick out about an inch in the front and a half inch in the rear. But I also haven't gotten an alignment yet and I'm planning on running lots of negative camber so they should tuck pretty nicely. I wouldn't even mind those fender flares but I'd fill in the screw holes. Then I'd have to step up to 17x10's to fill those puppies.

Oh, ok. I thought I remembered you saying they were 9.5 when we were talking about them at Bennigans, but I guess I was mistaken.

Re: fender flairs

Yeah, they are 17x9's, they stick out plenty as they are. Some guys on tunerz were tucking 17x9's within the fenders but they had to clearance the rear control arms, this is with a 40mm offset. I'm running a 28mm offset and have no clearance issues whatsoever.

But, the word on Toonerz is that they're using S13 flares.

Re: fender flairs

You guys totally ruined this thread!

Are you all against flairs then or what? I think they're alright for track cars, some even look sweet on the street. But they have to be squatting low as hell and have some beautiful rims.

Re: fender flairs

Yes. i am against fender flares, Big wings, Body kits, 20" chrome rims, chrome stripping, rear view mirror fuzzy dice, skull shift knobs where the eyes light up, or anything else you can get on the K-mart aisle of pep boys.

What is the purpose of putting those on a track car? does it have any effect on performance?

Re: fender flairs

Well I was talking about flares in general, not skull shift knobs, big wings, and tire flys.

I assume they help with maybe just a minor effect on aerodynamics, I know, round flare, round tire, how much difference could there be?

I'm sure they make a wide-wheeled car look a little bit better and also help from keeping gravel, rocks, road-grime off of the body of the car.

I know much of that doesn't make sense, but if you're knit-picking at my post's to start e-drama. Keep 'em coming.

I was talking about the function part of them, not the "look, my car has fender flares for my 7.5" wide wheels that don't stick out past my bodies OEM fender/1/4 panel".

Personally, if I had this wide of a wheel I'd rather have this:

Than This:

Re: fender flairs

Anyone have any pictures of rolled fenders instead of fender flairs?

I would like to see how it looks different. I am not a fan of the tires sticking out of the side of the car.
