Re: Shootout Results ~ 11.31 @ 130 mph
Car sounds way flat on acceleration, atleast when I heard it yesterday. I would say 500-550whp tops for those trap speeds.

Re: Shootout Results ~ 11.31 @ 130 mph
The car is lacking power, thats for sure. But at this point the untouched head and stock intake manifold are definately holding it back. Also, a bogged launch that went as low as 3500 RPM's in first probably contributed to a much lower ET and a slower trap...
But I think I have figured that end of it out, just ask Fast Mark We had a little run in with his El Camino last night...

Re: Shootout Results ~ 11.31 @ 130 mph
Fast mark doesn't have an el camino. That was his friends. He has a ford truck, and his mustang. Currently, his stang is apart, because he's sold the wipple, and going with a t-76 turbo setup with a t6 flange..good for hopefully 1200hp. Anywhos, good launch chris..you shot some flames, and that second race with the fouled plugs..hope ya get it sorted out bro..

Re: Shootout Results ~ 11.31 @ 130 mph
Very possible, all I know is that Fast Mark was driving it... Is there another mustang with a T76 on it already? I raced a silver one with chrome wheels the other night at uni from a roll, it was some girls car with a T76 on it. I'm guessing it wasn't making 1200+ because at the top of fourth it looked like it was a few cars back

She said she made 618whp on 10 psi but who knows. Maybe you guys should race again because I missed it. Dustin raced her and I guess it was a real close race, then raced Nate and that was a close race too.

She needs to crank it up to 12 psi, cause that's the sweet spotfor that thing. but anyway, nice dusting..when you gonna upgrade the intake?

It's all about the money, but we're not done with the current setup quite yet

Who is Steve.. last time I remembered My name was Kevin because I built that exhaust with Kyle, along with a little bit of the car. Kyle did a lot of work though for sure. I was in the car when that mustang raced Chris and he put about 3 or 4 cars on that turbo stang from a roll.

Re: Shootout Results ~ 11.31 @ 130 mph
Hey Chris, this is Bryan from the Budget Inn. I'm the one that has the 95gsx and helped you with the settings on dsmlink at the shootout. Congrats on the decent time. I think before we left you ran a 12.x at like 125. A little better then the 100 hp made at the dyno the day before. I wish I could have seen it run but we had to make it back to Chicago. Good luck with your car and ditch that damn stock intake manifold and upgrade

Re: Shootout Results ~ 11.31 @ 130 mph
130mph for a car with an unported head and stock intake is smokin! And it's street driven? It may not be the world's fastest DSM but that is very impressive none the less.

I went 11.0@128 in my car last year. I also had a stock intake manifold and a 2.0 with a 60trim.

Rockfalls raceway .
Don't forget the shitty intercooler, and the fact that it was at 32psi.

Re: Shootout Results ~ 11.31 @ 130 mph
What did Nash trap with ~550 whp? Somewhere around 123 if I remember correct? I think everyone is putting way too much faith into this HP vs. Trap speed phenomenon.
Using the speed method calculation with Shanes highest trap of 137 you would get 602 whp assuming his car weighed 3000 lbs with driver, and If I'm not mistaken he made a little more than that...

Re: Shootout Results ~ 11.31 @ 130 mph
Everyone should stop Crying about this. I dont see one person thats talking on here Except Cher, and Shane that has seen 130 in the 1/4. Go get your cars and run 130mph traps then talk. I dont see why everyone is putting Chris down for having a fast car. It is a fast car hands down. If none of you really believe me. Then race him. I'm sure hes down for it.
Kevin

Re: Shootout Results ~ 11.31 @ 130 mph
Chris, nice job on the car, I like that you have raced just about anyone who has asked. I don't doubt your car will run a ten sometime soon.
Chris is one of the nicest DSMers I have met. I'm sure he is happy to have his car running and the fact that he is knocking on the door to a 10 second run. Be patient. Not everyone has the funds or time to throw together a complete setup right away and make 600hp+, 500hp+ is nothing to sneeze at, 11.3 at 130 with a bad launch is not too shabby either.
Chris I'm glad to see your car on the street, keep that car running and racing, there isn't shit for DSMS on the streets around here right now you are the quickest one.
Jim

3000lbs with driver? I wish. It was probably around 3250 with driver back when I went 138mph. I hope to get it down close to 2800lbs without me in it, but that still puts in well over 3000lbs with me in it.
Your car was probably starting to get into the mid 500s with the extra boost and whatever changed on the car. Kevin said the car just kept getting faster and faster without changing much throughout the day. Maybe some rings are seating or breaking lose or something.

Re: Shootout Results ~ 11.31 @ 130 mph
Nash trapped at 129 when he made 508whp and he didn't get a full pass when he made 531whp due to the car breaking after one pass.
And Kevin who is crying or putting Chris down? I went over and over this thread and I don't see one bad thing said, Brian said that it was lacking power somewhere, which is true. But then Chris responded saying that it has the stock intake manifold which makes sense. And Shane could be right by saying that it could be just breaking in, the more and more its driven the better it gets. Point out where someone was ripping on the car in question or the people who put it together? But if you or Chris are getting hurt feelings over this I can lock it for you.
Oh yeah btw nice job Chris, that thing will be in the tens the next time out if you can get a decent 60' for sure.
