Help! Fuel injector issues

Friday night I was headed home and decided to stop for gas. When I got off the highway I noticed my car was missing, bad. I got gas and limped it to my parents house in SLP. Checked the DTC code and found it is "P0201 Injector circuit - Cylinder 1"

Thinking one of my injectors was bad I swapped injector 1 and 4 thinking it would throw a "P0204 Injector circuit - Cylinder 4" however this did not happen.

So, what now? I see 12v on the left terminal of the plug for #1 and I see nothing on the other one. However i'm not sure how to test any further than this. How do I determine if it's something in the wiring harness or the ECU?

Anyone have any advice or willing to lend a knowledgable hand in getting me going again? If so, I see beer and food in your future.

Re: Help! Fuel injector issues

test the resistance of the injector the other way is to pull the connector off the bad injector while the car is running and see if the car changes.
You can do this now while you have a good injector in it to see if its the injector or wiring.

The swap you have done points to the wiring to check the wires on the back of the connector.

Re: Help! Fuel injector issues

To check the wire, find out what wire it is coming out of the ecu plug, and then check the resistance from the ecu plug to the injector plug. You should see a pretty low resistance, and obviously if you find one wire thats open, tada you found the problem. If you don't find a wire thats bad, I'd start looking into the ecu.

OK....

Checked the resistance between the ECU harness and injectors 1 and 4 and they both read the same. The resistance on each injector is about the same.

Looks like I'm getting a new ECU...
