PTE billet 5557E

Anybody know any good solid info on this thing? I have been looking for a while now and nobody seems to have any good info on it. Precision's website sucks, and none of the other ones seem to have any very good info on them about this turbo.

What I know so far:
-pretty much a billet 50 trim
-internal or external gate
-available as bolt on mitsu flange or T3
-available in journal or ball bearing
-depending on the website, good for between 495-535 HP

It look so to be an awesome street turbo, so scheides, ecoli, all you other turbo smart guys post up what you know!!

How many lbs/min?
cfm?
Spool characteristics?
dyno sheets?
1/4 slips?
any body running these things?

http://stores.punishment-racing.com/...rbo/Detail.bok

I Can't find much other than different companies trying to sell them on their websites.

Re: PTE billet 5557E

nothing. I don't really think that people are spending big money on fiddy trims these days, market is flooded with used FP stuff I would just pick up a used FP 3052 setup.

There is a 996TT porsche that BoostLogic built recently that uses these turbos. Made good power too.

Re: PTE billet 5557E

The turbo isn't for me, I'm helping a friend research it a bit for his 2.3 that he wants to autocross/drag. The nice thing about them is that you can get them brand new for 900 bucks. Probably about the same price as a used FP that would perform very similar for twice the price in a similarly sized turbo from FP.

Re: PTE billet 5557E

I usually find the FP setups complete for sale, maybe without manifold, but FP shit fits so damn good the price is worth it esp. used.

Sorry I am no help on that end, but if your friend doesnt have a mani, I have seen a 100% complete setup for about $1300

Re: PTE billet 5557E

My only comment is that I will never run another PTE journal bearing turbo.

Re: PTE billet 5557E

Finally heard back from Justin at PTE this morning, this is what he said:
  • approximately 54 lbs per min.
  • 535 hp flywheel (conservative)
  • no map - we use real word data from the racetrack
  • Green = Billet 5557
  • Red = GT3076R

looks pretty comparable to a 3076, just with a tad more top end.
