You know how the front case has the one larger bolt. You could put a small p-clamp there to add some more stability for the harness.

Thanks for all the feedback, painting is so worth it on this stuff, the car is like new! Better than new.

The wire routing picture is deceiving, there are zip ties on the timing belt tensioner bosses and on the right side of the assembly there are two zip ties that have anchors. It is kept well out of the way of the timing belt. Kiggley did his home work on this one. I work in the transportation industrial market and this would never be up to my standards for acceptability, however it will never be put through that lifetime of abuse that I’m typically expecting.

Update:
I have the fire wall and brackets done now, fuel system is under control, AEM Twin fire box, and the Aeromotive regulator are all mounted up. I have also found a new tool that I love. A threaded insert installation tool, makes all this stuff look factory installed with real fasteners instead of zip screws. Good stuff! Menards carries the guns for around 15 bucks, they are garbage but if you shim them they work good.

The harness will end up being a sizable challenge. I now have all of the lights wired, still need to add switches to activate head/paring lights (one simple toggle switch) and a switch for turn signal indicators. I used XLPE jacketed wiring, found it in 20 foot lengths on ebay, for a good deal.

Thanks. I have not thought about it, need to draw the line somewhere! After all it’s a race car, not a show car even though it’s kind of looking like it these days. Just one radiator hose failure, frost plug blow out or major oil leak away from being normal again...

You have a pic of what exactly you're talking about here? I'm not quite understanding or picturing what this is, or what you're saying it replaces. But interested to know!

I think he is talking about a PEM nut inserter. Basically installs a threaded insert in sheetmetal.

Re: Mark's 1G Winter Projects

I had a good week working on the car, I’ve been burning the candle at both ends of the day lately. I finished the wiring under the hood, this was no easy task. It took a little more effort that what I thought. I also made new fuel lines to connect up to my fuel rails.

I also built a bracket to route and control the new wideband wiring to keep it away from the hot piping.

Next step is to start the interior wiring and its ready for lots of tuning work to deal with the upgrade to the series 2 EMS.

God your work is so clean I love it. Have you thought about tucking the throttle cable underneath the manifold?

Re: Mark's 1G Winter Projects

I finished up under the hood last weekend. This has been one awesome project, I did way more than what I expected! I'm getting excited to start the tuning process. I just need to finish up the fuel pump/controller and instrument wiring then get a modified deep sump pan oil pan on it. I start school April 1st so time is ticking.
