I would also be interested in a good kit.

I'll take a stab at explaing but I could be wrong; This will basically replace your intercooler, while doing the same thing an intercooler does but in like a liquid form. Lot of dragsters use these kits and I guess people who don't want the extra weight of an intercooler? or in my case, when you can't have any visible mods Hope I got that right.

I want to know how well these will hold up on daily drivers too though, like Enes asked. Anyone have any experience with these?

Re: aclh/meth/water injectio

No, it is not really intended to replace the IC. It basically switches on when boost is entered and raises the octane of the fuel and lowers the temps some. It allows you to run more boost on pump gas.

Re: aclh/meth/water injectio

I thought you tap the i/c pipe close to the TB and it just sprays more octane in the motor and lower the combustion chamber temp meaning you are able to run pump gas close to race gas as tuning it concerned. I didn't think it had anything to do with the intercooler.

(Copy & Paste)

**This is the true Mitsubishi Stage-2 "Snow" Performance Boost Cooler kit that a lot of whispering has been done about. It is for the most part the same as any other Stage-2 Snow kit, but uses a two dimensional map for more accurate and more efficient methanol injection. This system uses boost and mas air flow to ensure the correct amount of methanol/water injection!

$399.00 **

Than step up to the 7 quart reservoir. If we could get this system for less I'm in all the way.

Re: aclh/meth/water injectio

I built my kit for about $150. I run a 50/50 mixture of methanol/H2O.

As we all know, our cars run rich under WOT to dissipate heat and prevent knock (over 50% enrichment if you are flowing more than 2.7 g/rev). This fuel is not burnt and is only added to displace heat. Unfortunately, gasoline is not effective at quenching heat and preventing knock. Water and methanol have considerably higher latent heat of vaporizations compared to gasoline and therefore quench more heat than gasoline. By injecting water/methanol into the cylinder you can remove a great deal of gasoline that isnt being burnt in the combustion process. This lowers combustion temperatures and slows the flame front (much like race fuel). This means that you can run more boost and advance timing.

Water has a greater latent heat compared to methanol and methanol is basically an octane booster. Some people have more success with 100% H2O while others have more success with a mixture of methanol and H2O. Keep in mind that methanol burns in a 6.5:1 ratio, so your desired A/F ratio will decrease.

These setups are perfect for street cars that run on pump gas and run high boost.

Re: aclh/meth/water injectio

Yes, it is basically a "chemical intercooler". I was able to raise boost to from 21 to 24 psi and advance timing anywhere from 1 to 3 degrees (although I could probably add more).

I have never seen a car specific kit. Most kits are universal. All you need is a pump, hobbs switch, wiring, water lines/fittings, check valve/solenoid, and injector.

the one unreal808 sounded mitsu specific, but yeah I havent seen any others that have been car specific. I have a car that is MAFless.

Re: aclh/meth/water injectio

I also do not want a car specific kit as I run a stand alone ECU, so it would do me no good. I have always heard good things about the Aquamist setups.

Re: aclh/meth/water injectio

Yay, all the Supercharged 3G Eclipse guys use an alcohol kit, so they can run more boost without having to replace the pistons, and for the fact that they don't use an intercooler. I would buy a kit if it was around $200.
