Re: Big Brown's Automagic - The last episode in my DSM story.
Thanks dudes. ^Actually big man, that's the thing it really didn't seem to do a lot of magic.
Made me quite confused.
It pretty much looks like my old 16G 5 spd car, slower 60' but quicker 1/8th mile and .3 quicker, if i would of turned on some NLTS i know i could of done 11.4
I think with suspension and maybe better track prep, a better 60' will be had along with some solid low 11s.
Plans you ask? Get the car to run consistently, fix all leaks and clean her up.
Mods wise?
suspension
brakes
SMIM
Restalled converter maybe
Speakers
Ideally finally build a damn motor for one of these cars, but being out of FT work who knows.
I think we should try and do a style track day next year like a track rental.

Did you play with your timing at all trying to get up on the converter?

Damn, nice work Brown! That's exactly what my car trapped with the old 20G setup I had back in the day but with a half second shaved off my times. Auto is looking better every day.

Re: Big Brown's Automagic - The last episode in my DSM story.
Thanks big man.
I can't wait to go and do it again! I need more injector though so I can run more boost and not worry about fuel.
I'm thinking FIC 1680s will be all i need for quite a few years.

Re: Big Brown's Automagic - The last episode in my DSM story.
They don't make the 1680's anymore. I think Scheides is selling his set though as he bought some 2200's.
edit: great run though, very impressive.

Re: Big Brown's Automagic - The last episode in my DSM story.
Not too much to update, a lot of changes are happening with me right now so no time but to just drive and enjoy it.
I did pick up a 3-port solenoid for boost control and some Deutsch DT connectors to wire it up with, I also have a gear display box that should be here soon.
Watched munchgsx run a 11.29@119, so i know that the suspension is holding me back and maybe the weight a bit. I think he cut 1.61 60fts to my 1.79s or worse.
So this reinforced my goals for a 10.99 next year with more boost and a SMIM.
Next big purchase should be injectors hopefully by spring, apart from that I should just be cleaning up misc. small things I don't like with the car, oh and I need to get some real speakers and a sub for the car I miss having a nice stereo in it.

I picked up several 10ths going from wore out stock suspension to a Koni Yellow + GC Coilover setup. 450/325 lbs per inch F/R and the car is so much flatter on the shifts, I wish I'd done it years ago...
Not sure if it's going to make as much of a difference on an auto, however.

Watch the vid, the car noses up pretty hard initially and that's where I'm losing the most time. I wish they still made that setup, hell I wish I could of seen it I don't know much about the GC setup at all.

I did, and she squats a bit on the launch. But imagine that happening with every shift
Since Koni discontinued the rear shocks for the 1g I was forced to use the 2g's (only for the rears). It's virtually the same shock - the bottom bolts right up and you use the 1g rear top-hats to complete the assembly. The only factor is the shock is physically 2" shorter than the 1g rear, but this is not an issue if you are lowering with the GC's.
Overall, I could not be happier with this setup. The car is very flat when it needs to be, but the ride is still very good with no bouncing on normal pavement.

Re: Big Brown's Automagic - The last episode in my DSM story.
Well the day is here, car will be put into storage mode. Which really doesn't mean much for me other than no more random/fun drives with the car.
Took it out last night and I got whooped by a 2.3 FP green evo on 23psi (430whp DJ) and a 125 mph V8 nitrous car, I did smoke a low boost turbo V8 mustang though.
I've sold the injectors out of my car and if this local kid can stop being a flake I'll have the 1200s i have sold. With it being winter and me moving I'm going to just throw some stock injectors in there so I can move the car to its new home, which will most likely be heated and inside so I can go sit in it and clean it up whenever I want to.
With that said car has been pretty reliable even for how much is unknown about it, I do want to setup a better crankcase evac system for it however.
List of winter plans:
better evac system
switch to SD or have sensors in place to.
Hookup all gauges (FP & EGT)
Oil cap gasket (I always forget until i drive the damn thing!)
ratchet shifter
install gear display
finally will be to buy injectors most likely FIC Hi-Z 2150s in the spring assuming that I can.
I should do suspension, but I have to do a lot of research for that

430 DJ, that's it? There's conservative, and then there's wasting your money... Most of our stock turbo son E85 guys are around there, lol.

^Anything else to spout your wisdom about?
Like my power box that wasn't the cause of my fuel pump issue?
I don't think most of your STS homies are at 430 on 23 psi, but please try again.
