Still dont understand how DSMs are going for so damn much lately. My last two dsms were 2gs from when i was in california. The 96 GST was $2500 with a couple mods done, in decent shape not too bad. the 96 GSX was bone stock, decent milage, had a leaky radiator, and i bought it for $2000, swapped radiators quickly and drove it home. Its rediculous that people want even $5k for them. makes no sense.

Re: The local low mileage $10,000 DSM...

There getting older and harder to find in OK to good condition, I had one guy come look at my talon for 3k and he's the one that took it home as well, it's not easy to sell a dsm as its definitely a nitch type of enthusiast that likes these cars, mine was like a 8 out of 10 for a 1g compared to what was for sale on Craigslist and mine still needed a little dent removal, and had almost zero rust

I agree, for people that would actually want one of these still are going to pay a little more because of how hard it is to come by one that isn't beat to hell. I paid 3500 for mine and it was stock with zero rust and no body damage and is one of the cleanest I've seen in awhile.

For the most part, the people who have owned or do own are a younger generation that just doesn't take care of them and they end up in a junkyard, parted, or just plain rusty.

The list goes on and on. I find myself with not enough time in the day to even get daily stuff done, let alone sit around in a parking lot for an hour with people I barely know. Most friends I still hang out with on here are over parking lot meets, and instead meet at restaurants and patios to enjoy food and their company.

Curt I know you are super gung -ho about mitsus, but not all of us have that passion to dedicate every waking moment to mitsus. I haven't even made a cars and coffee yet this year, which is on the list of things to get to one of these months. lol You have to realize that people move on to different platforms and the Mitsu community is going to only get smaller and smaller locally. Maybe creating a group dedicated to imports would open the gate to more people, or open it up to various makes. Myself and quite a few others who started off with mitsus/dsms are probably done with mitsu after tasting what some other manufacturers have to offer. The reason this site is still going, is because of us OGs who still come on here to chat with friends and talk about politics LOL. Otherwise it really shouldnt even be a mitsu site anymore IMO.

Im not sure the last time you made a meet that wasn't your own or a 3S event, this is the strange part. We used to have weekly meets and I dont think I saw you at any. Theres also proving grounds and various track events that people partake in each week, so its all about balance and fitting in what people want to do. /rant
My rib was mainly directed at Steve Hill. He came to one of the first Tuesday meets but hasn't been back. And he literally lives within walking distance of Culvers. So that was a friendly poke for him.

Mitsustyle is only a small part of the local Mitsu scene. There is the EVOMN board and several Facebook groups. There are still a lot of Mitsus running around. A majority of them are EVOs and other newer models, but they are out there. I think the OGs don't really notice (or care) about the local Mitsu scene because you moved on. Which I totally understand.

I've gone to the May and June Cars and Coffee, the Eminent Fidelity meet in June, the Nissan/Infiniti go-karts a few Tuesdays ago. And I'm going to the Driveshafts and Daily Dose meet in Maple Grove meet tonight. I really enjoy the local car scene and tons of other people do to. I know a lot of people grow out of it when they get older, but not me. I'm flying the Mitsu flag and hanging out in parking lots until I can't walk anymore.

later,
Curt

As one of the younger few on this form I would like to add; speak for yourselves. I can list a few worthless members on this site. I know of another member for instance that still owes someone money for a certain car they bought and sold. So for that person? Sure. Let's not generalize all the younger members off of some non-basis having, no backing and ridiculous assumptions.

Oh, my cars are all pretty damn nice too.

God bless.
