Re: Evo X upgrades
If you don't mind telling, how much have you spent on this thing now?!?!? This thing has an insane amount of expensive parts on it already for how new the car is.

I'm estimating that I'll have $20k into mods and labor when it is done. All of the big pieces are purchased so there won't be a whole lot more to this thread...I'm down to looking at aero and other cosmetic stuff at this point.
I figure it makes more sense to spend money on a new car than an old one. I don't intend to ever sell it. This will be my DSM one day. lol.

I've heard that from a few people. It's also mellowed out some now that I have a few miles on it.

Re: Evo X upgrades
Did some research into my fueling situation today...spoke to Full Blown, Blaqops and Shane @DB. I'm going to be sending a Full Blown double-pump hanger to Blaqops to get their boost progressive pump setup. I'll then have Shane install a set of the ID2000's rather than mess around with an FPR and modifying pumps for higher pressure, etc.
Now this is a ballin' fueling solution. It'll be a shame to put that under a seat!

Too bad no one will ever see it, except for these pics! Sounds like the perfect setup.

Definitely true. The big catch for me is that I couldn't send my fuel pump core into Blaqops and have the car down for a week. I'd just end up paying $35/day for a rental car. I'd rather buy the hanger and try to sell the stock pump/housing for someone else to use as a core.

Re: Evo X upgrades
Thats a pretty sick fuel setup.
You better be buying a bigger turbo to make use of all your newly purchased goods!

CBRD BB-X and cams are on the way in a week, so I decided I better get my ass in gear on the supporting mods. Can't do 450 at DB without more corn juice.

It does kinda suck, really. I know I'll max out the injectors and pump if I don't upgrade but the only step up is to double-down. I might as well get that last 10% though.

After adding it all up the other day I'm having some regrets about the outlay. It's so close to where I want it now that I'm inclined to see it through. The dent in my savings is epic.

Full Blown just starting making the Evo X hangers so I haven't been able to pick it up yet. They think they'll have them back from being anodized either today or tomorrow.

Re: Evo X upgrades
Once you get the car all together, just make sure you take the time to really enjoy it and as little time as possible thinking about the $$ spent. It's easy to get into a downward spiral and consider just parting it out or selling it or whatever, especially if something goes wrong. Remember, this whole project is dedicated to putting a huge smile on your face! You only live once so if you can do it, go for it!

Re: Evo X upgrades
Yeah man, this summer will be all about learning to drive. I'm thinking I'll do at least one day at the Jim Russell school. They teach you to push the limits on a mostly stock Evo X. I'd rather do it on their car before I see if my suspension is set up right. haha.

Re: Evo X upgrades
Care package from Boomba and Buschur arrived. I'm planning to polish the valve cover later on so hopefully the black cap looks good.

It's amazing how light these rims feel without tires on them.
