Re: Yep..another one.

Turbo showed up yesterday, and is currently in my room, awaiting disassembly. Has zero shaft play, like none at all, but never know if the oil seals are good or not, guess I'll see once it's apart. Took off the compressor housing to check the wheel out, and that looked good. The exhaust wheel, is supposed to be chipped, and in need of a new one, so I'll be checking that out as well. Haven't gotten new injectors yet, sold the 1150's, and had some more important things to pay for, so just have to wait on them. Not in a rush on this car, so not worried about it. I picked up a mint hatch cover, for free, 2 weeks ago as well.

Re: Yep..another one.

Gonna bring this thread back from the dead. I made the decision to keep the car, and fix her up, seeing as it's more financially in the cards for me. Got a list of things to do, but really gonna make a push to get it done for brainerd. We will see how that goes. Time to get the panda back on the road!!

Re: Yep..another one.

Things to do today-
•wash car •pull bumpers, sideskirts, and wing to clean underneath them •pull fmic and everything that needs to be pulled before yanking the motor.

That should be enough to keep me occupied, I got the itch to get working on it, so I'll get all the free/cheap stuff out of the way, until I get more financially stable.

Re: Yep..another one.

Alrighty, last update of the day haha. Finished up most of what I wanted to, only ended up having 45mins to work on the car, but managed to clean it a bit, and pull the bumper and fmic. Also was limited by tools. Heres how it sits right now-

Lots more to do! Need to get the motor out and see whats going on in that bottom end.

And yes....I know...my engine bay is filthy..haha. Should be taking care of that once the motor is out. Also will be looking for some tips on tucking my wiring harness once the motor is out, I'm clueless as where to start.

OH, and might as well show ya the new rims. 17x8" with a +40 offset. Gonna do a nice gloss black on them. Hope they fit alright....

Re: Yep..another one.

Good choice on the Black rims, white rims are so 1999.

A white engine bay can't be easy to keep clean in a car like that. A pressure washer will do wonders I bet.

sweet dano, good to see you're working on it. Also let me know if you need help. Have an engine hoist you could borrow if you need it too.

Rims look sweet! Only thing I'd be worried about is them rubbing on the inside, looks like a lot of backspacing on them...

Re: Yep..another one.

Yea, that is one thing I am a bit worried about. Don't want to go out and spend money on tires and such, just for them not to fit. Theyre in the back of my mind at the moment, its a little more important to get the car apart, then get it back running.

Re: Yep..another one.

Once again I pulled this off the market, after finding a cheap parts car, with a running motor in it. Ill be re-ringing the motor that came with it, freshening it up a bit, and putting all new gaskets and tossing it in. Worked out well, seeing as my friend needed a 90 tranny, and this one shifts great! Originally was gonna strip it out, and sell the shell, but found some neat bondo on the one side (pic below). Also going to swap out my interior for the one in the parts car, since mine isn't too good. Should have it back on its feet in no time (although it will be back to stock).

Pics of the parts car-

Re: Yep..another one.

Did some tearing down of the parts car yesterday before the rain came. Decided to not go with the white rims I posted earlier, just gonn toss the 2g gsx rims from the parts car on there. Should have the motor out here in a couple hours, then gonna toss it on a stand and tear it down.
