Re: project reach-around

It was fun driving it last night but that rear caliper pisses me off, so I bout 2 new rotors set of ok pads and 2 new caliper and have them on the car. These are for the front of a late 80's grand am though so I lost the e-brake but I will add a line lock to act as such. the major difference is that the rotors are thicker and are vented unlike the stock rotors.

Re: project reach-around

I have them on the camera but that's down in the garage I'll post em later. Need someone to help with bleeding brakes seeming I'm too cheap to buy the vacuum system to do it by myself.

Re: project reach-around

just buy the speed bleeders with the check valve in them to do it by yourself it makes it pretty easy.

Re: project reach-around

Nice. What does that thing have for front brakes? And will those rears screw up the bias much?

Re: project reach-around

has the same front brakes as a chevette which suck something horrible, as for bias this is a popular swap and have heard nothing of it hurting the braking. I have stomped on the brakes(car will not lock them up to save a life) with nothing but a quick stop and the engine shutting off.

Re: project reach-around

Hahahaha a Chevette... I can only imagine how much they suck. Isn't there anything better you can put on the front?

Re: project reach-around

Well long time no reply but mark killed it using it to drive back and forth to work the last few weeks. Ended up the clutch wasn't enough for the engine so a new one is being ordered. Him and my dad will be doing some other tweaking to it as needed as long as the engine is out. I never drive the thing seeming I need to transport my daughter around and this wont do it at all, So seeming I drove it maybe five times in the last few years it's sad taht its broken already.

Hopefully one day it can be painted and competed to what I wanted it to be but for now new clutch and hopefully back on the road as the loaner vehicle.

Re: project reach-around

After 1500 miles it is all back apart

The broken clutch disk. A new center force clutch is on it way thanks to Shane.

How it is sitting in the drive way right now
